Grand Power

P. E. Kelley did a couple of reviews of the Grand Power in his "Out-of-the-box-to-Match" review series. Here is the .45 version. He liked them a lot.

The key point is at the end where he gets information from the factory about malfunctions he was having with the gun. Since the gun has a rotating barrel, you need a little lube on the chamber mouth/breach face interface as that contact point needs to be able to rotate. He had trouble without lube in that area, which is reasonable since it's not a spot one would normally lube a gun without a rotating barrel. This is probably something to note for Beretta PX4 owners too.

Fairly new on the market...but newest version is the Grand Power Q1S/Striker fired

I am moving away from Striker fired guns with light triggers. i went from the LC9S to the Nano and totally happy. Now will be replacing my SR9C. Both great guns, other than the super light trigger that breaks so fast. My SR9C is down to 4.1lbs.From what I see, I like this SA/DA.
I believe the PX4 Storm "Subcompact" is different from the standard and does not have the rotating Barrel. The Ground Power Magazines from what I have seen are over $40.00. That would make it not worth considering.
Really have my eye on the Px4 storm. If it shoots like the Nano, it will be a done deal.

The Grand Power magazines in my P40-10 are just a CZ 10mm magazine with an added hole in the front. Takes a minute to do it yourself. Don't let that keep you from buying the gun, I've been shooting it for a couple years now, have had no malfunctions at all other than the magazine drop issue when I first bought it, and that was resolved by the factory. A great gun.

Thanks for digging this one up. One of the few reasons that I give a lot of consideration to going from, almost exclusively, 9x17 to 9x19 is the pollerafition of interesting guns on the market in 9x19. This one looks very good.

Just to add:
I watched a few videos and this is now on my, "interested," list. That isn't quite on my, "short-list;" but it has me looking. (and yes, I do really keep such convoluted window shopping lists, it keeps me from impulse buys)
