Hiya Guys :) , I puttered around the house and got most everything done that I had planned squared away over the weekend which left me with some free time to finally field strip This Mini-14 and get it cleaned :) .

Since this is my first mini 14 and I've never been inside one before I watched a quick video on YouTube and made a mental note or two and thought it's fairly self-explanatory, especially since you don't need any tools. I broke out my cleaning stuff and got a few things lined out then got it stripped down and gave everything a good soaking with Hoppe's #9 before flushing everything with WD-40 and giving everything a good wipe down and oiling with REM oil before reassembling the receiver. Unfortunately it didn't go back together quite as easy as it came apart as expected, but after fumbling with the bolt carrier group for a few minutes I finally got it squared away and back together, overall not too bad for my first go round' :) .

I'm guessing this is a factory stock with a beautiful finish on it but since it was mentioned I thought I'd say something because this stock has a polymer type liner inside of it and I'm not sure if that was a factory thing or not ? ...

Sexy from bore to butt! Haha! I've had one on my list for a loooooooooong time, but I keep getting preoccupied with handguns. Oh what a fool I've been!!!

Utilitarian to a fault, and looks damn good doing it. Simply a great...and more importantly, fun...gun to have around.

Congrats on what can only be described as a fantastic find; a beautiful wood stock to go with a near pristine blued finish! Let us know how it does at the range!

I pity the fool that thinks he can buy that one from you.

Nice looking gun.

I know Right ? :neener: . I already had a friend make me an offer on it but I had to shoot him down and inform him that they'll be selling icicles in Haydes' before I let this one go  ..

I have to admit, I have always been lukewarm on the subject of Mini's. However, seeing yours, I am starting to want one (provided I can find one that pretty). Possibly the nicest-looking stock I have seen on a modern mass-produced rifle.

Beautiful stock.

And the rest of the rifle looks like it just came out of the box.

For my Mini-14s, I got a polymer handguard from Choate. I prefer it to the factory style since the Choate one doesn't have the overhang to prevent your fingers coming in contact with the slide. My fingers are short enough that's not a concern and think the look is cleaner.

Hiya Guy's :) . Apparently tiger-striped Minis like mine are rather rare and most people have never seen oneone but with a beautiful piece of wood like this, I believe it, however I actually found someone with a tiger striped series 581 similar to mine :) ..
