If anyone happens to see a good deal on a 3-9 AO or 4-12 AO scope please let me know. I'm in search of a decent 22lr scope.

If you jump in the next couple of hours, eBay is offering 15% off on anything, maximum savings up to $100. You have to use the app and enter code PICKFAST, so you need to do it from a phone or tablet.

look for a used leupold 3x9 AO EFR compact scope, I have one on my CZ 452 LH American and love it.

Call camera land NY and so to speak with doug. He will hook it up and they have black Friday deals as well as demos etc. They have many brands but something like an Athlon Talks would probably work really well for what you want. Athlon packs a lot of value in their optics

I just ordered a Midas BTR 2.5-15x50, and I THINK the Argos 4-20x50s are still on sale.
I'll vouch for both of those scopes.

They we're 250 and 160 respectively

Yeah they were running some pretty good sales. I meant Athlon Talos above, sorry for typo.

I have heard good things about the Midas line for the price as well. Really thinking of getting the newer Midas Tac 4-16-44 but holding off for some more reviews. The new primary arms 3-18 looks very good as well.

The Chinese glass is getting really impressive as of late. If a good company is making up the spec sheet and QC/QA is on point you can source some really decent stuff these days. I recently got to look through a new Athlon Ares Etr that just came out and was surprised it came ito of China. It is close to 1k, but very impressive glass

Well I went and purchased my new rifle today and took a peek at those Bushnell's and for some reason the whole entire box of them was still full except one missing. I took this as a sign they weren't all they were cracked up to be so I passed. I'm currently looking at a center point 4-16-40 AO.

I recently read a thread on here I believe that stated the quality of the Center point scopes was lacking compared to the same model a from a few years ago. I know this is only for a 22, but depending on your budget you may be able to do better.

Check out the optic below. Lifetime warranty and if you call Doug he will offer better pricing most likely.

You can see other options sorted by lowest price. The one I linked is right under $100 and will be a much better scope than the center point.

Something like a Vortex copperhead/ crossfire might be a good option as well. Don't forget to check out any local websites that sell stuff as well. You may find a Leupold vx1 or similar for cheap. I have found some good deals that way.

In the long run it is your decision and money, I just think there are some better options than the center point

Primary arms makes a nice 6x with a really good reticle too. Lots of good choices available

Thanks for the info. Im not settled on the centerpoint. My biggest draw to it was my buddies 3-9 was really nice and the one im looking at is 4-16 so I can shoot at my 3'' shoot n c targets at 100yards and also has the lighted retical for coon hunting at night. I now found mueller APV from doing some research so that route maybe good. I have some amazon rewards cash $30 coming next week so it will have to be something local or from amazon.

Amazon should sell most of the ones I linked for pretty good prices is you just search the name/model. The Mueller would be a good option IMO, better than the center point.

I understand wanting the higher magnification to see the targets well at 100 yards, but the illuminated reticle might not be necessary. Keep in mind these are mostly budget optics and the illumination probably won't be bright enough to use except for dusk/Dawn. Even some scopes that cost hundreds more don't preform well on sunny days. The illumination is also one of the first things to fail or have issues with.

i had the 4-16 on a target ruger 10-22 i put together about 4 years ago. it was good for the money and clear. don,t know if i would trust it on a hunting gun or one with recoil

I had an older center point as well and liked it well enough.

Lemme poke thru my scope collection when I get home, there might be something you can use. I think I've still got an intensity 3-12x44 as a spare

I bought a Crossman .177 Nitro (non-springer, single pump 1,200 fps) combo with a 4x Centerpoint. It was a bit fuzzy and a little yellowish to my eyes but worked for awhile. Replaced it with a Leupold, then snagged that to put on a .44 mag. Back went the Centerpoint and in under 500 rounds the seal broke free and tangled in the crosshairs. Yep, no O-rings, just some painted on stuff. I gave the rifle to my daughter and now my old Hawke is perched on there.

I picked up a Nikon 4x14x40 scope for $98 from Sportsmans Guide on Friday.
I've been looking at normal rifle scopes and i keep seeing posts about fuzziness at 50yards cause of the 100yard parallax.

A Weaver is not a bad scope for a .22LR. These OEM scopes are what they provide to gun makers for package deals on gun/scope/rings combos.

Parallax is something different all together. Best way I can describe it in simple terms is picturing your speedometer as the driver (doing the speed limit) and having a passenger asking why you’re doing 2-3 mph slower than the limit as they glance from the side.

AO or “Side Focus” will correct for error as will having perfect head alignment (which is pretty tough). If you just want a quick shot squirrel gitter I’d skip on it but for a target grade rifle it’s money well spent.

As to what you’ve read I imagine it relates to using too much magnification at too short a range. Another problem, more often seen at under 40 yards or so, is a scope’s inability to focus at close range. The only other possibility I see is people discussing the yardage markers on scopes not matching actual range distances precisely.

I just got a Sig Sauer whiskey3 for $110 at Midway. I haven't mounted it yet, but it sure looks good so far.
