I had an Iver Johnson TP22 when they first came out and it was a decently made pistol. Very reliable with just about any .22 ammo it was also fairly accurate even with it's small fixed sights. Should have held on to it but instead I traded it in on a new Beretta Model 21.

ortgies .25 about 1922

Don't have anything of the age of many (most) of the pieces referenced on this thread... :)

The oldest semiautomatic currently in my possession is a Detonics Mark VI Combat Professional which I bought new in 1984. It's a bit of a brick with an unloaded weight of 1 lb., 13.9 oz. (according to my postal scale). But it's slim and compact, reliable as heck, and I believe it would still make a decent carry piece. :)

Always thought those were too cool!

Edit: How did I forget, my Finnish Luger dates fro. 1922...

My 2 (next) oldest are still young, relatively speaking ... 1940 p.08 Luger and a Radom ViZ 35 also from 1940.

It would be a P38 made in 1943. The gun was bought by my father in-law in WWII and brought back home. It was willed to my wife and she gave it to me. It is still her gun really. Great semi-auto and a family keeper. It will of course go to one of my daughters since it belonged to their grandparent. Yes, either one of them is capable of shooting, reloading for it, cleaning, and maintaining it properly. We are a gun family.

IMG_3335 (2).JPG IMG_3336 (2).JPG I inherited this National Match .45 and it shoots very well. Unfortunately, it needs a new extractor, since empties often hit me in the forehead. It's difficult to find the right extractor to fit this model, so I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas as to how to narrow down the choices.
