Ok guys I am wanting to get my Rem 721 rebarreled but I am not sure what the factory barrel contour is because I want to match it so can anybody help with that info?
Does anyone know the contour of a factory Rem 721 barrel

Have then repeat the contour of the present barrel . Douglas did this for me on my 721.

Look at the remington 700 contour. Betcha fur they’re close.

I'm thinking that some 721 had a raised boss for the rear sight. Toward the end the barrels became smooth without raised portion for the sight. I may be missing this a mile. Right, back in the day barrel makers could duplicate contours. Might do well to do some research on some body to do it today.
Most major barrel makers (if not all) will match the contour of an existing barrel. They usually want the barrel in hand to take the measurements from tho.

Mine has the boss & Douglas contoured it.

The boss being what is in the picture on the right? I removed my rear sight for scope clearance but that raised area is still there.
