The K6 Kimber, what's your take on the gun?

I've had mine over a year and have no complaints, other than the difficulty in finding a decent IWB holster for it.
I use a Simply Ruged pancake (OWB) with the IWB straps. Works well for me. I ahve even more trouble finding holsters since I am a lefty.

I have three holsters for mine. A Desantis paddle (but it doesn't hold it tight against the body, OK for range use, but not for carry); an MD Whitefield OWB which is nothing less than perfect; and the aforementioned Simply Rugged which works better as an IWB than it does as an OWB.

Thanks for the pointer! Which model of Rugged is it? The Cumberland doesn’t have the K6 as an option, and that’s the closest to the type I like.

Silver Dollar Pancake, coupled with the inside the waistband straps. YMMV, but I have found that it works best with the straps mounted on the inside and looped over the ends of the holster. I think that Rob has a picture of this configuration on his website.

Does anyone know of any aftermarket grips for this gun? I need a bigger, more hand filling grip than the factory offering provides.

Thicker, NOT longer. Im not looking to lengthen the grip as it's unnecessary and will make the gun harder to conceal. A covered blackstrap would be ideal to fill my boney hands.

Looks like a nice gun. All it needs is about three inches more barrel and a hammer.
I love the trigger pull on this revolver. But consider that it is still a snubby so accuracy on these types of guns aren't the best. Good only for up close and carry. LCR Ruger is more compact but 5 shots and it's alot lighter for carry but more recoil.

I just bought my second Kimber K6s. It is the CDP model and has a great looking finish on it. Sadly, it has sticky extractions and even after having a gunsmith polish the charge holes it is considerably more sticky than my other K6s and other revolvers from Smith and Ruger. Looks like I’ll call Kimber Monday.

That is not good sorry to hear. Please let us know how Kimber handles it.

On another note the K6 rides beautifully in an AlienGear Holster.

I looked for a long time, for a pistol with the specific features on the K6. After using it
for a while, I'll say it has an excellent trigger, exits the pocket well, and is superb
quality. IMO, the average person looking for a pocket .357 will be pleased.

The .357s with hammers and longer barrels has been done to death by S&W,
Ruger, Colt, et al.

Did your sticky extraction problem get resolved?

Is the CDP model the polished stainless steel model with the red sights?

I was taught to shoot 1 shot sa when drawing from a holster and follow up with da. Might not be best way, but I’ve been doing it 40 years and pretty darn good at it. Anyway, I got the gun and absolutely love it. The trigger can be staged so you can basically shoot it sa and the da is really slick. After 100 rounds or so, I got comfortable just shooting da and it will now probably become my primary carry gun. I have not shot any .357 rounds nor do intend to. I fired about 60 rounds of 38 reloads loaded to around +P velocity and followed up with around 40 Remington Golden Saber +P which is my carry round. Very accurate and easy to control even with the tiny rubber boot grip that came on it. Went ahead and ordered the larger wood grip and now it is a real joy to shoot. I can now get all my fingers in the game. My normal carry gun has been a 3” Model 64 which has an amazingly smooth action and a perfect sa trigger but it’s on the verge of being replaced. I never thought I’d ever carry anything but a SW Revolver but I guess old dogs can learn a few trick. Here it is with new grips

I have the K6S 3" and like it a lot! I don't shoot too many full house .357's out of it, but mid power loads are easily manageable. To me the DA trigger is great.
