When someone says why do you need an AR15 or a pistol with a higher capacity magazine. Also why a revolver isn’t always a good choice. If the suspects had shot back and a gunfight had ensued you’d run out of bullets really quick with a revolver.

According to a news release, Edith Guerrero, 36, Jaden James, 18, Leonardo Gonzalez, 27, and Jessica Aynes, 28, woke the sleeping occupants as they entered.

The unidentified occupant with the gun fired several rounds, hitting all four suspects and ultimately killing one.

Be interesting to hear the rest of the story. Looks like the house was out in the middle of nowhere.

Wonder it they ran at the first shot or tried to return fire. In the chaos of a shooting like that the burglars don't know if one of them shot first or the homeowner
Also assuming the burglars were armed

Well, that certainly seems to hinge on whether or not the shooter of the revolver had good fire discipline and was able to dispatch each of his/her assailants with a single round.

I qualify monthly at the master level with patrol rifle, service pistol and shotgun. If someone breaks into my house I will go to my AR. I know what it is like to fight and good fire discipline sometimes goes out the window unless you are Chuck Norris. You may also be wounded and placing every round into the X-ring is not going to happen. Diligent practice at the range is a wonderful thing but it is not fighting.

Four people breaking into a home at the same time seems unusual but glad the homeowner could handle the situation. Talking about a fight, a homeowner defending his family is ready for a fight and he was!

I wonder if the perps knew the homeowner and there was something else going on? We do not have all of the facts.

in a 4 on 1 situation, having the right equipment and the ability to use it effectively can't be overstated- also makes a good case for a weapon mounted light.

Two men and two women home invaders is in itself a bit unusual I would suspect.. More information to come. Unfortunate anyone had to loose their life over such stupidity. I didn't see anything indicating that the 4 were armed. In the scheme of things it really does not matter. They (the four) created the situation that caused her death.

As far as what gun is needed to protect yourself and your home, that will likely be argued right up to the day the socialist Democrats take the AR-15's , so called HI Cap pistols, and other semi auto firearms away from the citizens of this fast deteriorating Constitutional Republic.

Each self defense situation is different, and each human involved is also a factor in the outcome. Revolver, AR-15 , or whatever your choice is, keep it ready, and even more important is keep yourself ready.

Very likely meth or other drugs entered into their poor decision to enter someone else's home, uninvited.

Obviously, the wrong home.

I once saw a video of an Asian store owner taking out an armed robbery crew with a .38 revolver.

He received a non-life threatening wound, but wiped them out. He was so precise and methodical that he looked like he was shooting the Steel Challenge.

I've been looking for the video online for years.
