A pair of New Model Number Threes. Both chambered for 44 Russian.

The nickel plated one shipped in August 1882. It was refinished at the factory in 1965.

The blued one shipped in October 1896. It was part of a large shipment to Japan. It has not been refinished, probably has about 50% original factory blue.

Another WOW to add for the collection! A truly awesome display of S&W revolvers! Thanks for sharing!

Dragonfly

I've owned a bunch over the years, but now down to two:

Same here though I have a few more than two left.

Still that's a fine pair of S&W revolvers to have; the venerable Model 36 and the rare Model 686 CS-1.

Just wow. It makes me so happy to see that people are out there keeping the faith alive. Ed McGivern and Elmer are grinning like idiots...... What a GREAT thread!

B974F7D9-FC59-4F25-A617-90AEB058001C.jpeg Model 649 no dash....38 Special. She was in sad shape when I got her and this is after a good bit of working over with 600, 1000, and 1200 grit sandpaper. I also stoned the insides to give it a double action pull any Ruger LCR would be envious of yet with single action capability. Here she is with her Sunday clothes on. In my opinion, the ultimate carry S&W; and a gun you wouldn't be embarrassed to show in the most elite of company.
