I fondled one for the first time yesterday, and the trigger was exceptional and grip ergonomics superb for my hands. I have a fetish for 22 handguns and have far more than I "need." But I am tempted to add one of these to my accumulation.

My only reservation: is the gun accurate? If not, it really adds nothing that I do not already have in the M&P Compact 22 (mag capacity aside).

So, does anyone have any personal, first-hand experience to report on the accuracy potential of the Taurus TX22?

Yes, let us know how it shoots. I plan on purchasing the first one I see. But I am impulsive like that.

And which Umarex are you talking about? Umarex is a distributor of many brands of Pellet guns and BB guns. And I would bet the quality of some of the German made guns go for more than the Taurus. I know nothing the the TX22. Will wait to cast judgement when I shoot one.
 
That is why I brought this one up for discussion. I was hoping to get the scoop on someone else's dime (or $316 as is the case here)!

Anyway, I talked a buddy into buying one tomorrow. If he does, I hope to have a report at the expense of his credit card....

From what I gather so far, the triggers aren't bad. If the price is right, I'll likely end up with one.

Aesthetics is a subjective thing, but I don't find the TX22 hard on the eyes. I can't say the same for the Keltec CP33 (another "higher capacity" .22lr handgun that's piqued my interest).
 
I broke down and bought one. After probably 600 rounds or so through it, I have no regrets.

It is not a bullseye gun by any means, but it is far more accurate than it ought to be for its price. As sweet a trigger as I have found on a plastic gun.

Guns and Accessories has a couple of YouTube videos that are spot-on accurate and favorable, consistent with my experience with my gun.

I have yet to break mine down for cleaning; in fact, I have done nothing to it but take it out of the box and shoot it. I had my first failure to feed today. That was a nose-down round in the mag, and that may have been user error.

After a good cleaning, I intend to keep putting plenty of rounds through it to see if it breaks....

So far, so good.

I got one yesterday and it's a lot lighter than I thought it would be. It also feels far better than I expected.
The trigger is pretty good.

I haven't had the chance to shoot it yet but so far I'm impressed.
 
Had a good range trip, about 225 rounds. Had a few issues with some bulk Fed Target but another Fed bulk and Win bulk as well as a few types of CCI was flawless. Good trigger, good accuracy Hopefully put a few hundred more through this weekend. I think it's a good purchase,
 
This has piqued my interest too recently. Seems to be getting great reviews. Thanks for the reviews so far on here, keep em coming. Might pick one up soon too. Right now my only 22 handgun is an old H&R revolver and been wanting to add a semiauto
 
I bought this pistol a month ago. With family and work it took me until today to fire it for first time. loaded two mags of CCI standard velocity(later tried other ammo co. And another mag) put the mag in, aimed fired very accurate hit first round......did not extract shell and Jammed up very tight, finally cleared empty brass....well I ended up doing this 11-12 times in a row.....I am furious and should of know better to buy anything Taurus semi auto. I have contacted Taurus and the label for a “fix” is on its way the wait they say is 10-12 weeks. I wanted to like this pistol, but now it’s nothing but “I told you so, don’t buy Taurus” I don’t want a new fixed pistol. All I wanted was new working gun. Taurus has really disappointed me today.

So they actually told you the wait is 10-12 weeks??
 
Mine works fine - though I did have to clean up the inside of some additional plastic magazines I bought. Also needed to be careful loading the mags so that rimlock is avoided. Other than this it has been great fun. I've got close to 500 through it, a mix of mini-mags and Aguila super extra plated LRN. I have run 6 mags per outing three times with no issues, besides the minimags I am glad it runs the cheaper Aguila just as well. Bought a case :)

Also the TX22 fits pretty good in H&K P30 holsters.
 
I've had a TX22 for a couple months now and have enjoyed it very much. Mine has performed perfectly with mostly bulk ammo and a couple boxes of always dependable mini mag. The 16 round mag is cool. The trigger is pretty good, the sights usable. Clean up is easy. Based on my experience, the price and the performance, I'd recommend it.
Put a tiny green laser on it and cranked up the fun meter to a 10. Now I'm loving my first Taurus.

Came close to purchasing, but want to find out more about Taurus Customer service. I am sick of sending my SR22 back for the same problem over and over with this cheap junk. And I hate the stupid Ruger Trigger with the insane creep or free play that feels like the trigger spring is broke. My Phoenix shoot better and hold up better. Better Trigger etc.

How many times have you sent it back? I’ve owned 2 problem guns, an EMP and a CZ. Springfield replaced it after the fourth trip in. CZ after the third. Ruger should do the same.
 
Three times so far for this gun. It was replaced once. Three for the LCR, and and many times for the LCP's I have owned. I love the LCR, and the Older SR9C. But done with Ruger on future purchases. Their new budget guns look no better than the SR22.It was fun while it lasted, Just time to move on. But that is Ok, I have found much better quality taking the new road. So everything has worked out. I do not know if they will even do anything with the SR22. I will most likely give them a call this week, or just maybe forget it. The gun still runs. Maybe just run it to the ground as it seems to be getting worse.
And I am not crazy about the gun anyway. Sad part is, I have a lot of magazines.

Yes, I will say Taurus did seem very perplexed in my issues and was very quick to send me a return postage package return. I called with my reference number one week after sending the pistol back and they had sent it back to me the day before. So it was only 10 day until I sent and it was returned fixed to me. There was a letter with the returned pistol claiming they replaced the extractor and trigger pin and had test fired 32 rounds with no problems. I have yet to take it to the range myself and test fire it. I’m very excited to shoot it and hope it was just a small issue with quality control.
