How many of your guns do you modify in some way?

Buddy had a couple old Rem 760's in .35 rem and we went to the range.
One was an ADL and it shot great, he offered to sell it (as the mag didn't work right).
I got the mag fixed and scoped it. Done nothing else.
Its got a lot of bluing missing, and the stock is dinged and scratched.
My OCD says new wood and reblue.
But I'd just beat it up pushing creekbottoms.
Had a minty Ruger #1 that was too nice.
This 760 is too beat up.
But it shoots great............so I leave it alone. Yeah, offseason it irks me.
When it rains or I gotta go after em in the thorn patches..........kinda like it "as is".

It might get a sear spring swap. That'd be the only mod. I have the spring stock at home.
5 minute job. But it's not needed. And yeah, I am that lazy.
Next major soaking, tear down to clean/oil...........I might change the spring.
It stacks bullet holes on each other at 50 yards so why even mess with it?

I never change stuff to be changing stuff, there must be a purpose.

Almost all of them. There is usually something that I can do to make it fit, function or feel better.

I try to make sure that I have factory replacement parts on hand if the results are not what I expected.

All of them. Everything needs de-horning, new grips or sights, tuning/timing, trigger or mainspring changes. Rifles need scopes or at least a good set of peep and front post sights. I'm a sculptor and a son and grandson of millwrights. Feel is everything, and getting the gun to fit my hand, my cheek weld, LOP, or my sight picture is very important.

If it ain't broke, dont fix it !!
I despise cheap, aftermarket junk on my machinery. I rather feel the same about my shootin irons too.

Not much is worth doing to a Glock, they are near perfection out of the tupperware.
Some revolvers come with rubber grips I have wooden grips for them, much nicer looking.
I had a Garand rebarreled with a match grade one, also put NM sights on it.
That's about it.

I think the only guns that are currently in the house that are 100% factory are my wife's shield and my Bisley Blackhawk. Of course I have only had the Bisley about two months and have only shot two cylinders through it at this point. Both the sights and grips will be getting changed on it in the very near future.

I tend to leave mine as I bought them. I have added optics to a few though.

If you count grips and optics/sights most of them are. Only a few of the heirlooms are untouched.

I'm in the camp of some mods, though not many...
But on thing that will get done is...

I can't stand that add-on. As a general rule I don't buy pistols with Mag drop safeties or disconnectors, but many .22s do have them. Thankfully, most are easy to remove.

I think i have just 4 firearms (of a few) they i haven't modified (other than adding a sling):
Pre model 10
Winchester 94
Winchester 9422
M1 garand
870 20 gauge

The rest end up with different sights, rails, optics, etc.

I have really slowed down on the mods that i do however. I am finding that many guns were built just the way they aught to be.

AR15's get the most mods because you can't really screw it up... And come on, it's like legos

Those Blackhawk grips are the coolest thing ever.

Most, one way or another.
Most guns put out today are kit guns, 90% finished by their makers.

Grips are a minimum, usually, with sights, action work, etc. as needed to fit my requirements.
Occasionally a full-blown rebuild.

Cosmetic changes to pistols with new grips. All of my varmint rifles and deer rifles have new or adjusted triggers. Lots of optical changes on the rifles.

I would say all of mine are to some extent. When I acquire a firearm I strip it down, clean all the crud out, buff/polish the needed areas to improve function, and try it out. Then continue as needed ---or not. All of my revolvers have needed at least one of the throats reamed so I could shoot lead bullets accurately with light loads. I now stick with four different caliber revolvers as that is what I have purchased the reamers for. I have not gone behind in function bu doing this to them all. If anything Smoothing the trigger out is a blessing. YMMV

Most of the "modifications" mentioned above are really just accessorizing.
New grips, sights and all of that easily reversible stuff shouldn't count unless you dispose of the removed items.
Now, de-horning, drilling the receiver, re-barreling, bedding, reshaping the stocks, re-blueing - THOSE are mods.
Once done they cannot really be undone.

I only mod items that have already been modded or are unusable without mods.

Only thing I've ever modded is the sights on my Glocks. Replaced the factory plastic sights with metal tritium sights.

Oh! I also put a red-dot target sight on my Ruger III Competition.
