What would be a good gun belt for my CCW and magazine holder on the market today? I have been looking at a 1 1/2" wide 14oz.leather belt to stop the sag and roll over.
I have had many other good belts but am looking for a community consensus.

If leather, one that has two stiff pieces of leather laminated and sewn together. Maybe with a stiffener. Maybe made from horse hide which is denser and stiffer yet.

I don’t know about non leather belts so I’ll let someone else speak to that.

I'm using one of the Bladetech/Nexbelts from Dillon. Only had it for a couple months, but if it proves durable, I'll have to say, that for me it's better than any other belt I've worn. Has a reinforced core, does not sag, roll over, etc. and the black leather one I bought looks just like a regular dress belt.

I know the feeling of looking for a good belt.
I put a bunch of weight on over the last few years. Over the last several months though, I’ve gotten rid of some of it. So I’m looking for a belt again. In my case, the criteria you list are what I’m looking for. But I’m also looking for one that isn’t expensive as I have a bunch of weight to get rid of. So I don’t want to spend a lot on something I’ll be replacing in the next few months.

The most worn belt I have is a Safariland garrison belt, it works great for me with light loads. It's a subcompact 45 with no reload most days. It fits the best, isn't overly stiff (no core) and just works for every day. It could handle more I'm sure, but no sag with a single point carry in kydex.

Let me go back and say, I have quite a few belts hanging in the closet. Lots of failures and about 4 that are in the rotation when carrying.

The others that get an honorable mention in my use are:
Best non leather belt: Ares Gear Aegis, hands down best web style belt I've ever had.
Leather belts, most with steel reinforcements:
Hanks gun belt - steel core
El Paso Saddlery - custom made western style belt. Solid.
Bigfoot - New to me but seems good. Steel core 18 oz will hold anything I have. Even a full size steel frame like 1911 or old gen s&w 45 with double mag pouches.

Another non leather belt that seems good that I recently bought is a Grip6 belt. Dont have but a few days worth of wear but it seems ok, light loads. Not a full size carry with three reloads and night stick and tazer type belt but could become another light everyday belt.

My current EDC belt for IWB is a DalTech Force Superbio. Appearance wise it simulates leather but it is actually a polymer formed around an internal webbing. It has held up better than any other belt I own and I have worn it more regularly than any other belt since I got it.

I also on occasion carry with a BullBelt Steel Core belt. I got one in Distressed Bison for my sister-in-law's western themed wedding to match the boots I wore. Hey, made a great excuse to buy another gun belt:). Anyway, I haven't worn it alot but I do like the way it looks and it has held up fine for the little I've used it.

If I am not carrying (usually at work) or pocket carrying, I wear an Aker B21. I've gained weight since buying it so it got pushed out of the IWB role, but fits ok when that isn't the case. It's been solid, although it has a significant "curve" (my SuperBio has a curve as well but nowhere near as pronounced) where the holes are probably thanks to my gut and the fact that that is where the kydex liner stops. If it still fit me for IWB, it would be my second choice after my SuperBio.

The other belt I have owned was one of the Kore Essentials gun belts. In theory, I loved the concept of this belt and understand why people like them. The ratcheting buckle system allows for much better fine tuning of fit and it was comfortable when I wore it. My issue was, again likely due to my gut, the teeth that hold the buckle to the leather portion of the belt started to pull through the leather and the buckle didn't fit as tightly as I would like. I ended up selling it to someone to cut it down from my size and has been very happy with it. I can't personally recommend it from experience, but people seem to really like them and to be fair I never did contact Kore Essentials about my issue.

Based one what I've owned, you've probably gathered I don't like spending alot. All the ones I mentioned are still under $70 I believe.

I got a Kore Essentials fun belt for Christmas. It’s two thinnish pieces of leather sandwiched on a plastic core. Very stiff, good choice for pistols at least up to G19 size, which is the biggest pistol I’ve used it with.

It’s also got 1/4” adjustments so you can really get the size perfect, which I like.

There are many good belts out there. As as been pointed out in these posts, the main thing is to have two layers of thick, stiff leather. I use the Jake Belt, made by Tommy Theis, because he's apparently a decent, God-fearing man of faith. His belts are high quality, and even make carrying a Ruger Super Blackhawk comfortable. But I'm sure there are other good belts fashioned by good people. Your choice. That's the beauty of capitalism.

I did a lot of research online on gun forums before I decided on my double stitched, dual layered bull hide Beltman with stiffener. It's very good at preventing roll over IWB with my snub/appendix carry and can handle full size OWB. IMG_1558.JPG

I’ve been wearing a Beltman since June 2014. I’ve never worn or bought a new belt since then. I don’t think I’ve ever had a belt last even half that long before.

I have 2 belts from the Beltman, had them for over 10 years, still going strong!
No folds, no wrinkles still looks brand new. I highly recommend The Beltman>

Another vote for Beltman. I lost some weight and they shortened it for me (for a small fee). I'm out'a luck if I gain back the weight!

Kore Essentials gun belt. I've had mine 6 months. I have both the leather (looks like dress belt) and a canvas belt which is backed with leather. Both include a stiffener. The Canvas belt is the stiffest and should hold up with most any firearm. The leather belt should work with most "medium" sized guns or smaller. It is fairly thin and very stiff but I'm not sure it would last as long with a full size pistol--I could be wrong! So far no wear marks or twisting!

The 1/4" increment adjustment is really nice and allows use of different holster types and clothing as needed. It is very secure and does not slip after adjustment and does not show any marks on the outside of the belt from different positions used (leather or canvas).

So far, its seems like a great option. Has a 1 yr guarantee.
Belt buckles are really nice--finished well and have several styles to choose from.

Edited: I replaced a nice but worn out Crossbreed leather gun belt. The Kore belts are more comfortable because of the infinite adjustment and seem to work just as well.

Bigfoot Gun Belts are the only ones I will use. Double-layered leather with a steel stiffener. I have had belts from most of the other major makers, but I have had the two Bigfoot belts I have now (black and brown) for three years with no sagging.

I've been wearing one of these for about a year and a half now:

It has no problem with a full-size S&W M&P 40. Still looks good enough that I wear it to work every day (business casual).

They're in the $50-$60 range, but its already outlived several other belts I've tried.

The only problem I’ve experienced is when I carry at about 1oclock or so. If the holster is close to the buckle it can press on the locking lever preventing a tighter fit.

Just shift the belt and buckle around to the side a little. It would not take much.

My favorite belt is my Wilderness Tactical frequent flyer

I have good stiff leather belts but end up wearing this most often. Easy to adjust depending on what you are wearing, comfortable and does not sag at all. Mine has the optional 5 line stitching and works even when carrying my SRH in a belt holster while hunting. Inexpensive too.

I have 2 gun belts. My leather one is from Hank's belts, I've had it for 3 years now and am still happy with it. I also have a nylon belt from Klik Belts. I like this one more than the leather belt, it's more comfortable and I find myself wearing it on weekends around the house even when I'm not carrying. The downside is it's nylon, so there's times it just doesn't look good enough to wear.

Just purchased a belt from Relentless Tactical. I will try it out and see how it functions. Won't lose too much $$ it was clearanced. LOL

I typically wear either a Wilderness belt, or a Real Man's Belt from Simply Rugged.

ETA: Either holds up a Super Blackhawk just fine.

I got a Kore belt too, their "tactical" belt which is basically the same thing as the leather belt but without the leather look. I really like how rigid it is and I like the adjustability of the belt. The only downside with this belt and the Kore system is it makes a rather pronounced noise when tightening the belt, it makes a clicking noise and I think it's a little too loud.

I bought a leather gun belt on amazon from Relentless Tactical. It was around $50 and has held up great for two years.

I also have a belt from “The Beltman” - awesome belt.

My nylon belt is a 5.11 rigger style I got for a gift. Very sturdy and has been good.
