Early days of GCA 1968, you had to sign for ammunition. I don't know when they gave up on that, but it lasted a while.

Didn't last until the 80's because I used to buy buckets and 500 ct boxes of 22LR and also No8 shotshells as a 13-15yo at WalMart. I don't think that would fly now, but I remember as a kid when highlight of going to WalMart on Saturday was getting some 22LR

Wow. Different times.

If something like this passed it might actually prompt me to get into reloading, something that's not been worth it to me in the past from a time standpoint.

Some places require you to fax a copy of your drivers license before they will sell you ammo. I don't buy from those places.

NO, I REFUSE.

I appreciate your passion, but how exactly will you refuse?

Who is going to sell you ammunition without the supposed background checks and forms?

Same with the idiotic laws in California. When shopping for magazines and firearms, every single gun or accessories distributor has a note on their site saying they won't ship to California.

No matter how courageous and defiant gun owners are, the firearms, ammunition, and accessories distributors and retailers are largely Neo-capitalists who put profit above everything else. They would gladly urinate on the constitution if it means a 5% increase in sales.

50+ sponsors. That’s too many to just dismiss it. Can you imagine what will happen to ammo prices and supply if this gets any traction?

I know some would say that a black market would arise, but finding smokeless powder for loading is not as easy as growing corn for mash in the back 40.

The whole idea is to keep ammo away from people who should not have guns. It's simpler in EU because ammo is sold based on gun permit issued to firearm owner. Here it can only be done through PIA background system.

I have YEARS worth of reloading supplies.

I can buy ammunition and reloading supplies out of state to my heart's content.

Without REGISTERING ammunition and components, there's literally NO way to know to whom or from whom I buy and sell same.

I also reload and have been trying to buy extra components every paycheck the past couple of months. I can see the writing on the wall and am trying to get a couple of years worth of stock built up.

Well, they promised gun control bills shortly after they took over the house. They want to make the other side look bad by opposing them. This is where all the debate about public opinion gets started. Antis vs pro, make us look bad and mean and uncaring etc in the public light.

So oppose this, and try to have it done in a meaningful and productive way in the media, which is hard to do since so many antis are writing/producing/airing the conversation.

This isn't the first time they have gone after ammo, nor the only way they will (Think 300% tax on ammo, don't laugh, it's been tried), etc, etc, so look for more attacks on the 2nd Amendment until at least the next election. If they take both houses and the presidency we are in trouble, so keep up the fight and try to put pro gun politicians in on both sides of the isle.
