Y'all know I'm partial to Remingtons, but especially the Model 7. Even with my long arms I like the quick-handling pointability of the shorter length Seven. Here's my newest, a second-hand 7mm-08 I got at a really good price.

I added a Gre-Tan firing pin assembly (to get rid of the stupid J-lock), HS Precision sporter stock, DNZ scope mount, and like new Leupold VX-3 2.5-8x36. Here's what she looks like now.

Let's see some more Model 7s!

Here's another Model 7 project ... a .223 that I bought in a youth stock. It also needed a new firing pin assembly (PTG) to eliminate a J-lock. Picked up the factory laminate stock on one of the forums. It's amazingly accurate with Fiocchi 50 grain V-Maxes ... so much so that I haven't done any load development for it yet.

That MS is sweet! And congrats to your son. My oldest son (now in his 30s) took his first deer with a Model 7 in .243 when he was in his early teens.

I have been tempted by m7’s before for my all purpose deer rifle. Is it smaller than a short action 700?

When they came out I thought it was a glorious replacement for my beloved 600 series . I had 6 of the 600s tho so never bought one. The early Model 7 KS (Kevlar stocked) guns looked like what I had been paying Chet Brown build me for 10 years prior :)
