Thanks, Dave.I got some new, annealed, no-crimp LC several years ago. It's fantastic, and my favorite brass. I save it for my higher-accuracy loads.
Seems like that's about the market price. https://greencountryammo.com/New-Lake-City-556-Brass_p_37.html
So I see some of you guys saying you use the new LC for target work and other LC for plinking. What's the difference? I just acquired about 300 once fired LC and more coming today. Not a bad deal for free.
Not a big difference. I use the new for developing hunting loads, and the hunting loads themselves. This year I'll be working on a 60gr. Partition deer hunting load. I load up used range brass (LC and all others) with my M193-based general purpose load that I use for plinking. So I see some of you guys saying you use the new LC for target work and other LC for plinking. I don't load FMJ or SP ammo. All my ammo is ballistic tips or HP for a 223rem bolt action and making tiny holes or shooting woodchucks.Depends on what you are loading. I don't load plinking ammo for 5.56mm, I don't waste my time. I do, however, load what I consider 'target' ammo, or general range ammo that requires a non-FMJ bullet, typically with LC brass, but not always. LC (and FC... Federal, same thing...) are probably the most plentiful, and typically of good quality, so it's an easy pick.
Be aware... if that is once-fired (factory) LC brass, you will most likely have to swage or ream the primer pockets before you can push in a new primer.

I bought a couple thousand LC cases years ago stamped LC 11.
