no crimps and annealed $65-500 seem like a good deal? Says limited run so I’m a little skeptical. What you guys think?

I got some new, annealed, no-crimp LC several years ago. It's fantastic, and my favorite brass. I save it for my higher-accuracy loads.

Seems like that's about the market price. https://greencountryammo.com/New-Lake-City-556-Brass_p_37.html
Thanks, Dave.

This is the first I have ever saw of this and my normal supplier, BrassBombers went out of business. I was somewhat skeptical due to always seeing once fired with crimps.

My range commander says he has a 5gal bucket for me that's got a lot of 9mm and LC/WIN 5.56 but he's been promising to bring it for months. I really like using LC for my target rifle and that's what my loads are made for.

Just ordered 500. Sad to hear about Brass Bombers, that was my go to for once fired.

I bought 500 unfired LC brass about 6 months ago and find it to be excellent. Only flaw was a few of the case mouths were slightly dented, no real problem. If it is good enough for Uncle Sam I think it is good enough for me.

IIRC Midsouth had some for sale recently,,,
Considering my needs/abilities, I've got more than enough crimped 'once fired' mixed date LC (5.5 cents each) to last for quite a while,,,

That's about $5 cheaper per 500 than the new LC brass I bought at Graf's a few weeks ago, it was $13.99/100. The 300 cases I got were all LC17.

Good stuff too, I really like LC for my accuracy AR loads, finalized this load with that brass last weekend.

I just sized them and loaded, kind of thinking about picking up a few hundred more before they disappear or change years.

I bought 1K of the new LC 5.56 brass from Mid south ~6 weeks ago. Saving it for when I wear out my other LC brass....good price! I see they still have it in stock.

So I see some of you guys saying you use the new LC for target work and other LC for plinking. What's the difference? I just acquired about 300 once fired LC and more coming today. Not a bad deal for free.

Depends on what you are loading. I don't load plinking ammo for 5.56mm, I don't waste my time. I do, however, load what I consider 'target' ammo, or general range ammo that requires a non-FMJ bullet, typically with LC brass, but not always. LC (and FC... Federal, same thing...) are probably the most plentiful, and typically of good quality, so it's an easy pick.

Be aware... if that is once-fired (factory) LC brass, you will most likely have to swage or ream the primer pockets before you can push in a new primer.

If you want to use them for target work you will need to sort them. They vary by internal volume that will impact your groups. It's good heavy brass that holds up very well. I anneal after every cycle on mine for consistent neck tension. It all depends on what your end results you looking for, < 1moa. If you want Match Quality buy some Lapua brass, will save you a lot of time and effort. There is nothing wrong in using it for practice ammo once you sort them out. Just more work.

Not a big difference. I use the new for developing hunting loads, and the hunting loads themselves. This year I'll be working on a 60gr. Partition deer hunting load. I load up used range brass (LC and all others) with my M193-based general purpose load that I use for plinking.

I don't load FMJ or SP ammo. All my ammo is ballistic tips or HP for a 223rem bolt action and making tiny holes or shooting woodchucks.

That being the case, read what Blue68 has to say. LC brass is decent enough, but it is not match-grade. At the least you will have to segregate your cases by weight and/or volume if your goal is to print the tiniest of groups.

I bought a couple thousand LC cases years ago stamped LC 11.

One bag of 1000 had 8-10 percent split necks right out of the bag. The splits were annealed over so it was a problem at the factory. I culled the bad pcs and took a loss (MidwayUSA wanted a full return and I said not worth the ship cost) on the cases. The ones that looked good from the start are still going strong 7-ish years later. The other bag was pretty much 100 percent good, occasional out of round necks but you need to size them anyway.

Overall I think it's great brass, there was a flood of the 2011 marked brass that I bought that people later speculated were seconds, new stuff is probably ok. I'd say good to go if you think the price is right. Sounds a bit high but I haven't bought 223 since this batch, I think it was about $90 per K back then.

I think mine were LC12, I would have to pull up the invoice. Mine didn't have neck splits, however, at least not that I saw. Heck, I didn't even size them... I just primed them up and loaded them.
