I have a S&W SD40VE, and overall, it is a decent pistol, except for the notoriouslybad trigger. I came across an ad for the Galloway boudica trigger for this gun. Anybody have any experience with this trigger, or should I go with the Apex trigger? Will be installing a spring kit as well. I appreciate any input.

I just ordered one after reading your post. For 23 bucks it's worth testing out. I put the Apex spring kit in mine a while back and love it. It definitely makes for more fun at the range.

If you can find a way to ship it reasonably (like maybe through the dealer you bought it from -- using priority mail) S&W will do a trigger job for nothing or a very low price. I've read several comments from folks who have had it done and they were very impressed with the improvement. But it's hard to beat $23...

Thanks for the info. Might be worth contacting them to find out more.

My trigger arrived today. As soon as I get it installed I'll post here with my thoughts on it.

Got it installed in about 3 mins. Its different. Its definitely a 23 dollar trigger. Mine is a little rough in the finishing, some razor sharp edges. And it does really nothing to reduce reset or travel. But it does feel better than the stock hinge trigger.

I put an Apex on a Glock 17L to replace the trigger that came stock on that gun. To me the flat-fronted Apex feels 1000 times better as the "blade" fits flush when depressed while the stock trigger had a raised "stripe" down the middle where the blade protruded a touch at full-pull. After about two magazines fired with that feeling on my trigger finger I said, "No mas" and bought an Apex. Hopefully your new trigger will work as well for you .

If it's easy in easy out, maybe you could take some very fine sandpaper with backing or a fine polishing stone to the edges and smooth it out to make it perfect....

Post a pic and let us see how it looks.

Stay safe!

I ordered mine today, along with an Apex spring kit. If ithasthe sharp edges, I will break them slightly with fine sandpaper. Does your pistol have a spring kit in it?

Yea I put an apex spring kit in it a while back. It's worlds better than the factory. I used some micro files to smooth the sharp edges down nice and smooth.
