The guys at Rayzor’s Edge Tactical in Joplin, MO made sure it was worth the wait. The Cerakote work turned out awesome. I really don’t think the lead time was bad at all considering the completely custom paint scheme we came up with. Awesome dudes to deal with all the way through. Now I’ve just got to get it out to the range tomorrow and see how she shoots. I think this is the beginning of a beautiful relationship.

Lucky shooter. Any details to share about that Falkor Omega some of us know nothing about and are way too lazy to look up on the Internet? Why the red spot on the mag? Beautiful rifle by the way.

That red spot is part of the Hex Mag. That’s the decent to disassemble the mag. I think all the new Hex Mags are like that.

As far as the rifle, Falkor Defense is a high end rifle manufacturer based in Montana. The Omega is there 6.5 Creedmoor model. It features a 22” Dracos Straight Jacket barrel, Geiselle SSAE trigger, billet receivers and a ton of other features. I’ve personally seen a roughly .25 MOA group from this rifle. It’s an absolute shooter. I’ll post a link to Falkor’s description.

The camo pattern was a custom deal that we worked together to pay homage to my mother whom passed in December. Her name is Penny, so we incorporated some copper hues into the pattern without over doing it. I could not be more satisfied.

Well, I’ve got some figuring to do. The rifle didn’t really shoot as well as I expected. It’s hanging right around 1-1.5 MOA and isn’t really consistent. Seems like the hand guard is making some contact with the barrel when shooting from a bipod. Seems like maybe there was an issue when reassembling after the Cerakote. I’m sure it is something simple and I’ll get it fixed pretty easily. Probably gonna call Falkor tomorrow and see what they recommend. Hopefully gonna be something as simple as grabbing a torque wrench and checking the screws in the hand guard.

Here's hoping it's a quick and easy fix for you to get the most accuracy out of this fine looking and well built rifle!

Looks great, let us know if you get the issues sorted out!

Sure it’s not the scope? If it shot decent before being shipped to you then maybe it got knocked around.

I can’t rule out a scope issue, but there seems to be a lot of side-to-side play on the barrel and the groups don’t seem to be “walking” like I would usually expect with a scope issue. Rifle and scope seem to hold zero just fine, but does not group very well. If the zero was shifting I would be thinking it was a scope issue. Waiting on a reply from Falkor now. The good news is that it’s an AR and most anything on an AR can be fixed relatively easily. Right now I think it’s more of a minor inconvenience than a real problem.

Talked to Falkor yesterday and decided to ship the rifle back to them and let them have a look. Noticed last night that the hand guard feels loose. I’m going to try to tighten the hand guard screws a bit tonight and see if that resolves the issue before shipping the rifle back. Falkor’s customer service has been very helpful to this point. Just giving a quick update.

Pulled the hand guard tonight and discovered that the hand guard screws and the barrel nut screws were barely more than finger tight. Applied blue Loctite and tightened up the screws. We’ll see how she shoots tomorrow. I was surprised to learn that Falkor does not have a specific torque spec on those screws other than “don’t over tighten them.”

That kind of stuff bothers me, whenever I write tech data or detailed technical instructions, I always include basic stuff like recommended torques, it's the right way to do that kind of thing, and isn't hard. Whenever a company can't or won't give me recommended torques for stuff they manufactured, I can't help but wonder why, and be annoyed.

Same here, but the rifle shot ridiculously good before it was taken apart, so their way of doing things works for them. Won’t get to shoot until after work tomorrow, so I guess we’ll find out tomorrow if I fixed it. If not, it’s going back to Falkor.

Finally got to put a few rounds down range today in the wind and rain. I’m pretty content with this 100 yard group considering I was laying on a cracked rib. Ammo used was Federal Gold Medal Match 140 gr. The rifle does not seem to like anything made by Hornady thus far. 24366B55-C799-4211-AA4B-ABBEE4C7F60A.jpeg
