Lots of articles talk about how much harder snubs are to shoot accurately than semi autos....

I must be odd, because the opposite is true for me, that's why I made the switch, I found out that I can shoot the wheel gun faster and more accurately.

And it is not a lack of practice with the semi autos, I have fired many thousands of rounds out of a few Glock and Springfield Armory pistols... G36, G32, G19, G40, XD 45 full size, XD 45 compact, XDS 45 are the ones I've owned and/or carried.... There are a few others I've rented.

It all comes down to the trigger... I just can't master the mushy striker fired trigger to the degree that I can others.

I could shoot a pretty mean bullseye match with 1911, or a revolver (even double action)... But not a striker fired pistol.

I honestly just picked up a revolver and "took to it like a fish to water" as the saying goes... It just works, for me at least.

Cool! If you shoot it better than other guns then it’s a good choice.

Which gun are you carrying?

I love snubbies and have found they just work for me for over a half century now. But I gotta admit I have been transitioning to the micro 380s lately.

Practice reloads without looking at the gun. It is really pretty easy after just a few tries.

I too am very comfortable shooting and carrying a snubby revolver, but I am equally as satisfied with a snubby 1911. So I swap from time to time. Current rotation is Colt Night Cobra 38 and Remington Lightweight Executive 45, both in CrossBreed IWB holsters. Both sweet guns.

It is not terribly uncommon for the revolver on my belt to be a Smith 43C 22 snub revolver.

And, as always, a Smith 43C 22 snub revolver in my pocket.

I do like a stainless 3-incher. I have the "poor man's SP-101", a fairly-rare stainless 3-inch Taurus M85, from 1995. Yes, it's a very nice shooter, far different than the three thinner-gripped (but more-easily concealed) Charter Arms Undercovers I have.

I can shoot my 1 7/8" Model 60 better in DA (it's been converted to DAO) than I can shoot my Commander 1911. I know I have more shots fired with the 60 than the 1911 but you would think a full size gun with a single action trigger would fetch better groups.

Yeah, I also carry a revolver for defense.

If you're carrying for SD, it might be worthwhile getting the cylinder mouths chamfered, that can make reloading dramatically easier.

I don't seem to have much trouble getting the rounds in the holes.... I'm carrying Hornady Critical Duty, the shape of those bullets feeds in pretty easy.

The part I'm struggling with is just letting the speed loader go when the rounds drop in... I keep wanting to sorta flip it away, which is a needless action that takes a little extra time.

I'm working on it though... Just let it go and close the cylinder.

Gotta do what works, nothing wrong with that.

Me, I immediately took to 1911s and once I branched into the polymer world Glocks just clicked for me. I dont really care for the polymers with "better" triggers (PPQ, 320, VP9, etc) as they just dont fit me like Glocks do.

Revolvers? The only ones that really call to me are SAA clones (or near enough) like my Vaqueros. Somehow even nice DA/SA revolvers in SA just dont shoot as well for me.

Really like the grips on your SP101! Who made them for you?
Those were made by Tim’s Workshop. I don’t have a link at the moment but googling should bring him up.

Unfortunately they are way too small for my hands and I don’t really use them. I’ve actually been thinking about selling them so they are appreciated.

Of course I could also include them with the gun as an inheritance for my niece.

I recently bought a SP101 2.25" DAO for CC to replace a Shield 9mm I sold to free up money for a Smith model 10 4" 38spl. I favor revolvers vs plastic semis and shoot my 4 inch 357/38 (GP100s & model 10s) well but not consistently well with the SP101 snub. I regretted selling the Shield and bought another one and now alternate carrying them. I shoot the Shield more accurately and the 8+1 capacity vs 5 is an advantage at this stage. When and if I learn to be accurate with the SP I'll carry it more and I won't be selling either one.

I've carried a Colt Detective Special loaded with Hornady Critical Defense Lite ammo for a few years now. I have several other handguns that I've attempted to place in EDC rotation that just didn't work out for one reason or another usually never being able to be confidently accurate or the weight was a little heavy on the hip.
I recently purchased a S&W M&P .380 EZ that seems to be, after two trips to the range, something that may work out. Need to put another 200 - 300 rounds through it to make a final determination but the initial impressions are good.

If someone tells me that revolvers are outdated or obsolete, that's pretty much my first clue that the person is a moron. I carry a semiauto most of the time, but I have an LCR that I absolutely love.

Every time I read this I feel the need to pull my LCR back out and try to make it work, but for whatever reason I just cant like it. Its unpleasant to shoot and I can never get it to shoot how I need it to.

It's not the trigger, I have other DA revolvers and semis that I can shoot just fine, it's not the sights as they are better than those on my Vaqueros, which are tack drivers, it's some nebulous combination of the two I guess.

But i do like to shoot a few cylendars through the LCR to numb my hands up when I'm shooting some particularly punchy .44 mag or 10mm loads, makes them feel pleasant in comparison.

Just because I like mine, doesn't mean that you have to like yours. If it doesn't work for you, it just doesn't.

My wife carries a S&W model 60, she also only shoots 38's in it.

I've shot a few 357's through it, it isn't that bad.... I wouldn't use it for a range toy but that's not what it was bought for anyway.
