“By taking these actions, we are reaffirming that American liberty is sacred and that American citizens live by American laws not by laws of foreign countries,” he said.

I like that line he dropped alot!

I’m sure the globalist are spinning.

I watched the speech on Yahoo and was floored by the comments. The ignorance and hatred was sickening.

I haven’t liked many of the presidents in my life but my criticism of them I try to keep based on what they said and did. These were purely rehashing what MSM and the DNC spread. I wonder if they actually heard what he was saying or were so busy typing their hatred.

That said, for those of us who are pro 2A it was an excellent speech and a big finger to the UN.

President Trump does seem genuine in his support for the 2nd Amendment, I truly hope this is true for him and seems to also be true for his sons. Pulling the US out of this non ratified treaty is strongly in line with his America First agenda and not surrendering our sovereignty.

I have thoughts his support may be a business decision . I don't think he will ever be a shooter or hunter. No matter if he is genuine or not we have to make sure it is still a strong business decision for him through the 2020 election and through his second term and his legacy. He needs to know if he betrays us no matter his other accomplishments betrayal will not be forgiven and his legacy forever stained.

So in plain English what does this do for us?

Nothing direct that I know of but it does poke in the eye those I want poked in the eye.

Edit to add; Craig_VA gives a better answer below my glib answer.

The UN Arms Treaty requires signatory nations to restrict international trade in many firearms for their countries (penalizing manufacturers) and effectively requires each nation to establish a national gun owners' registry.
By rescinding the U.S. position one the treaty, this takes those actions off the table for US.

This is particularly important, because President Obama, after signing it, told executive departments to begin developing regulations as if the treaty were in force in the U.S.

This is a very good action on President Trump's part.

My understanding is that he has a NYC conceal carry permit. So he understands what’s involved to get a permit, what it means to have one. I also heard that he once stopped his limo to stop an attack on a homeless person. So it seems he at least has some sense of what it’s like “in the big city”.

I’ve also seen Don Jr speak about hunting and shooting. So at least one of the sons is a shooter.

Now I’d guess they’re not like those of us who enjoy things like 3 gun, USPSA, IDPA etc but they seem to be the biggest ally we’ve had in the White House in my lifetime.

Yes it is. Actions that a Clinton Administration would have accelerated.

Of course the fight is far from over as we seen the line of Antis lining up to disarm us. But at least it’s a victory and one that we’ve needed over the last six to 12 months. Sadly why do I feel like another mass shooting will happen soon? Now don’t get me wrong, I hope not, but I just feel every time we get a win one happens as a way to set us back.

He does not care about the 2A. He just is buying your vote. And that is fair as long as you understand it. It is like sleight of hand. He dangles the 2A in front of your eyes while he steals your wallet out of your back pocket. Classic.

So I get his policies of which the majority I agree with and he sweetens the pot with some 2A love, I dig that! Now if he would just walk back his remarks on due process, that was phenomenally stupid.

everyone should listen to the interview Don Trump jr. gave to Bowhunter magazine . Gives a pretty good insight of D.T.J., and the influence he hopefully has on his father. When Trump says he supports 2nd amendment , i believe him.
Trump has never in his whole life spoken one word of truth. There is nothing to believe.

Aim1 asks the correct question. I have deleted some meaningless 'attaboys'. I haven't listened to the speech yet.

So, does the UN treaty comment in anyway aid the fight for gun rights in the USA? How?
Tell me if the President explained his bump stock executive actions were are very dangerous as a precedent for the RKBA.
Did he propose and/or support a legislative push for negating the state weapons ban, HPA, reciprocity or the like? Did he say he would fight for them with the energy he puts into the Wall.

Then do something about it. It doesn’t matter what.

What, you think he went to a class? He paid someone off.

Withdrawl from a treaty that was never ratified by the Senate. No explanation. No rationale. Baiting at it's best. As far as I have read, it would have done nothing to harm our 2A rights. That being said, it will probably do nothing to stop international arms trade because cockroaches find a way in everytime.

You have no idea. Before long one will either be a globalist or dead. Globalism is the only hope the Earth has for long term survival. Tribalism and nationalism have failed. You can continue it, but only to the detriment of yourself, your nation, and your planet.
