Just got the same email. I got the silver one. SMGA is good to go. With transfer it will run me $205.

If you ever get to Seiverville TN it is a pretty neat store. A huge knife side to it also

Wonder what color combo is going to be the most popular? I'm not buying one but personally I'd vote for all black.

I prefer the all-black myself, but I would buy any of the three colors if that color was the only option.

Bronze and Black Sold Out. Only Silver is left. $179.99 delivered - allow up to 15 business days for Shipping. Sounds like a pre-order deal. Smoky Mountain Guns and Ammo are good folks to deal with in my experience.

I wonder how many of these that Ruger ends up selling in the first year?

Sort of like Big Macs. :)

I like the looks of the wrangler, but ill wait and see how they test out.

I love ruger products. but it seems anytime even a reputable company trys to compete with companys turning out a lesser quality product, they have to reduce the quality to compete.

we will know in about a year how the wrangler is holding up. I can wait.

I don't think that Ruger has reduced quality at all. The Wrangler looks darn good close up and shoots very well.
However, by using an aluminum cylinder frame and an alloy grip frame, they reduced production and machining costs hugely.
And, by using MIM parts instead of machined investment castings, more savings.
And, a Cerrakote finish instead of blueing and anodizing, even more.
Also, I wouldn't be surprised if Ruger is susidizing the low price tag on the Wrangler from the profits from their other guns in order to keep the price low.
Perhaps what they lose on the price of a Wrangler is more than made up for by not losing sales to the clearly inferior Rough Rider competition.

And when you take into consideration that the low price, superior quality over the competition, and the accuracy, the high volume of sales will make the low price sustainable.
Henry Ford figured that out with the Model T, when he was able to reduce the price by over 30% in only 4 years of production.

And, since Wranglers are selling like Big Macs, I don't think that it is going to take as long as a year for the reports to come back from the field.

While Heritage would be very happy if everyone sat on the fence and waited to buy a Wrangler, I'm sure, why would you bother at a retail price of around $180.00?

Adjusting for inflation, this compares to the $29 my cost in 1958 for the Ruger Standard auto. I'm gonna get one.

Mine comes in today to my FFL. Probably won’t have time to shoot it until the weekend but I’ll get some pictures up at least.

It seems like a lot of gun and fun for $180

I do like the way the Wrangler looks; sort of like an updated, retro version of the original Lightweight Single Six. I'm going to see if I can find one today to check it out.

$177 at my LGS!

Is the Ruger Wrangler actually 'in stock' (that would be the first I have heard of at a LGS) or is it 'pre-order'?

I have had a pair of transfers come through from Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore. They looked and felt very good in hand. Zanders and Davidson's and all my usual distributors say they are still waiting for the Wrangler to come in.

Didn't get time to get over to my FFL yesterday, but will today at lunch. Will post up some pictures when I get a chance.

Luke

Looked around yesterday but couldn't find any in stock. Will have to rely on your first impressions and observations when you pick your Wrangler up.

Oh and please post photos and range report when you have a chance!

I'm not even a big revolver guy, but I like the looks of the Wrangler. I like the price, too. May have to pick one up.

This might be heresy, but I wonder if they made a Wrangler with polymer grip frame if that could drive down the cost (and weight) even more.

Kookla

Not necessary heresy but all things being equal I think I would still prefer the zinc alloy frame to that of a polymer one.

Received mine at lunch and in response to the weight, when one takes out the cylinder it is significantly lighter feeling, there is a lot of it's weight tied to the steel cylinder. I'll have to weigh the cylinder separate to see the weight.

Uploading photos from phone as we speak. Haven't shot it yet, but initial impressions are very positive for $180. The finish has a very slight rough feel to it, it's not smooth, but it's not abrasive by any means. I've cocked and thumbed the hammer down about 200 times already and it feels like it's settling in nice just from that little bit of action. Some things I noticed:

1. ejector rod is steel
2. steel cylinder provides a significant % of it's over all weight
3. grips are serviceable, will probably buy some after markets sometime at a later date.
4. no glaring blemishes
5. the rear sight has a nice concave dish behind it which helps in guiding eyes to the rear sight
6. front sight post at extended shooting position has a nice amount of space between the rear notches, should be quite useful for accuracy
7. haven't tried the trigger on snap caps yet, just thumbing it down
8. seems like the hammer spring could be lightened a bit without compromising reliable ignition, we will see

I'll get a post up tonight with picture and my thoughts, don't know if I'll get to shooting it yet, maybe tomorrow.

Here is a couple of pictures for you.
