What is it?
we have a golf course and the Cardinals and Woodpeckers dig holes in the cedar siding etc.
we have one of above items; it takes a shotgun 209 primer and makes noise. what is it called? and where can i find more of them?
much obliged, Max

Are you sure it's not called a "Zip Gun?" Is it homemade or is there a trademark or model number on it?

I don't know where to get the device you posted.
These will work in any 22 and can be found art most hardware stores or online.
If you know someone that loads shot shells they could provide you with primed hulls.
Clapping two boards together can be as loud as a gunshot, even louder if you get your finger between the boards.
I suspect the birds will soon figure out there is no threat from any of the noisemakers.

Your picture did not show the muzzle end. If a projectile can be loaded by the open end and fired it may be a Chicago special.

We used to have "bird bombs". They fired something like an firecracker out of a shotgun. the projectile went into the trees then exploded.

I agree from experience. A timed interval orchard cannon would be much more effective than a hand pull primer device.

No one in their right mind would want to golf there though.
