Washington State is going to the dogs: after July 1 you can't buy a pistol on the FBI check alone and then use your WA Concealed Pistol License to walk out of the store with it. Local sheriff has got to do the vetting, including the FBI check, with a minimum of a 10 day wait until the sheriff gets the paperwork done, then you can take possession. Not the end of the world, but another brick out of the wall. Chit!

So I'm gonna be buying 1 more pistol before July 1. Question: what to buy?

I want a top end gun, ala a Sig 210-A. (But no 1911's or .38 Supers or .22s or "collectibles" ala a Luger or P38.) And I'm gonna finance the new gun by selling 4 nothing-special guns.

So aside from the aforementioned Sig, what would folks suggest? (Note: I have 2 226's, 2 BHPs, a 9 & 45 220, and 2 CZ 75s, so unless I go with a Legion or competition-level pistols, and I don't compete these days, I'm kinda at a loss. (I'd like to pick up an original 210 or Walther P88 but more than $2000 is outta my price range.)

I guess a new 210 would supplant my 226s so maybe I could sell them as well for an original 210. But I'd like to shoot a 210 first before I ditch my 226s, which I've had a while and hate to part with. Plus I hate to sell good guns. Run-of-the-mill stuff, like PPQs, Ruger SR9cs, or Sig 250s I have no problem parting with, but not classic Sigs or Smiths or Walthers.

In the scheme of things, I'm not facing a major life decision....but I would like to hear what folks here think.

Have you seen the new 210 Standard-

More like the original, no goofy target grips or sights.

Maybe a Smith & Wesson 952 or 52? I don’t own either but are definitely top end from what I’ve heard. Personally I’d get a Legion 226 or 229 SOA but since you already own 2 226’s you might feel differently.

S&W M52 and 952 are nice but discontinued and expensive.
Coonan is a shaky company at best, maybe defunct.

The P210A seems good but the CZ TSO gets rave reviews.

I'm not sure if it falls into the "collectibles" category, but a HK P7 would be on my radar. Depending on your budget, I'd try to find a P7 M8, but depending on what they're going for these days you may need to look at the PSP (usually a bit cheaper). If you can find one at an acceptable price, the M13 version is excellent, but it is going to be above your price range.

Get a pistol with a red dot, you won't go back:

One thing to consider is that the new P210s are really only P210s in look and name only. They are not using the original design of the P210. They are nice guns but they are not in the same league IMHO. If I really wanted a P210 I would get a real one. I would look hard at the CZ Tactical Orange Sport or a Shadow 2 with a CGW Pro Package. These will both come in under $2,000 and will make sweet shooters. The Shadow Bull is also a consideration but it will push you over $2,000 IIRC.

The Shadow 2 is an amazing value at under $1000 OTD. If you buy it from CGW or send yours there for another $500 you can get their Pro Package with their 10X bushing. It really pushes the gun to the next level IMHO.

You'd like to hear what folks think? Well, at least one of us think why in the he.... did you allow your state to be taken over by lunatics???? How about taking the money you're thinking of spending on a toy that your politicians will only take away from you at the rate you're allowing your state to fall apart, and using that money to support some politican who has the gonads to take back your state?
