Is it worth while to paint the inside of a deer stand black? Will it break up the out line of the hunter?

I have known guys that hang wind chimes from their blind so extra noise is normal.

I have been in blinds with kids that were playing and frustrated told them “it’s time to go!”, then they point out a deer that just walked past the blind.

I have been baiting for hogs, with a truck, two guys and a dog and got back in the truck only to see a doe and fawn, 30 yards or so away “sneaking up” on us.

I have spent thousands of hours watching all sorts of animals, many that didn’t want to be seen, some that want to be seen, movement is the deal killer, if you want to go unnoticed.

As above, don’t open all the windows and it doesn’t matter what color the inside is, they can’t see you, also if you open windows in front and behind you, it won’t matter either, they will see you move.

Sometimes it won’t make a difference either way.

My camo pop-up blinds have a black interior, so when I hunt from them I wear a black hat and jacket and a head net, I like to think it helps. Also don't go crazy and open a bunch of the windows in it, it will let light in and silhouette you and show movement.

Thanks for the info. I have windows on all 4 sides so it looks like the paint won't matter.

Don’t open windows that oppose one another at the same time, that’s all you need to do in order to no become a silhouette, making any movement very obvious.

20 some odd years ago, my best friend and long time hunting buddy, bought a new pop-up blind for Turkey Hunting. While we always had great success without one, he wanted to start using his bow instead of a shotgun and thought it would help.(rightfully so). He too had heard the suggestion of painting the inside black, so the night before opening day, he bought two cans of black spray paint and went to town. Set it up in the dark at the edge of a good field and watched the sun come up to gobbling about 300 yards away. By the time the birds flew down, we had such a buzz from all the paint fumes lingering in the enclosed blind we couldn't stop laughing. We decided to get out and sit ion front it instead...........
