I had one of these years ago and always regretted trading it away. I recently acquired another one in near pristine condition...same barrel contour as the 6 & 7/8" Target model but 5 & 1/4" barrel. I know these are relatively uncommon. Can anyone tell me approximately how many were made and the years of manufacture? I've already tried the Ruger Collector's Forum. Even put up a thread that was never allowed to post so no help there.

If its the one with the polymer bottom and stainless 5.25" target top it was made in 1993 only, and not a whole lot of them where made as they transitioned into the 22/45s.

I used to have one of these and it was awesome. Try searching under "Ruger MKII 514" and you should see a bunch of info come up. If I recall correctly, they were uncommon. According to my Encyclopedia of Ruger Semi Auto .22's, they started making them in early 1992.

Apologies for it being sideways.

I can see why that was made for such a short time. That's a really ugly gun, without either the classic lines of the original Ruger or the 1911 profile of the current 22/45.

They made one with a 5.25in barrel that looked real similar to the 6 7/8in target model----still kicking myself for letting that one go

Tapered-----not bull barrel
