I have 3 Beretta M9's and 2 Springfield 1911's. I have a chance to trade even one of my Berettas for another Springfield 1911. It's a Mil Spec / basic model which I like. Which one you guys think is more reliable or worth keeping ? Like I said , I have both and they both work fine. I have OCD and therefore if I come across a good reliable gun I grab it. I reload and I reload for both calibers. So damn ! Hard decision !!!!! My Beretta M9 is new and only had 15 test rds through it .

The only 2 things that has me thinking is that the S.A. 1911 has a glued ejector and a 2 piece barrel. I haven't had trouble with the one I have but just trying to see the pro's and con's.

I would definitely trade. But then I would trade away the other 2 92's as well, just cause I don't like them.

I own a 92 INOX and a few 1911's, one of them is a Springfield. The 1911's are by far my best range guns. The 92 INOX is my home defense gun. For home defense I would take the Beretta hands down. For a range gun / competition gun I would take the 1911 and not think twice.

Not really getting why you need another one of either pistols. I'm a collector of military arms, and two of each is enough for me...and I typically take only one each of any specific platform to the range at a time.

I think I am trying to convince myself to keep my Beretta

Sounds like its time for something different.........P226, BHP, CZ75?

What NIGHTLORD40K said: maybe it's time to branch out into something different (Glock, HK, SIG, Ruger), as it seems like you've got the Beretta 92 and Springfield Armory 1911 bases pretty well covered.

Plus it kind of sounds like your Beretta is still like new and you don't really want to trade it for another gun that you already have?

Just sayin'...

Unless the new Springfield offers something appreciably different, I wouldn't. 2 of a gun is enough for me.

Perhaps the branch out to something new, like a Sig, CZ, or different type of 1911 (9mm, CCO, etc) suggestion may be more fun/useful?

I'm a 1911 guy, but I'd expect a Beretta 92 to be more reliable.

With a MRBF of over 22,000 I think you could argue thar a Mil Spec M9 has a pretty good claim to being one of the most reliable 9mm.

A Civilian M92 likely has a larger tolerance so may not be quite as reliable.

I haven't seen the numbers for the Seal's P226 or SOCOM / Seal's G19 but I find it hard to imagine that they are a lot better than the M9.

Since my Beretta is like new I decided that I am keeping it . PLUS : I just read that Springfield is lowering their MSRP on the Mil-Spec like they did with the XD generation one series. They are lowing the MSRP to $549 so that means around $450 for a new Mil Spec with a forged frame and slide. I'll just save my money and buy one.

I'm selling my Beretta straight out and buying a CZ75 Single Action Only . Been wanting one for several years so I'm gonna finally get one. Thanks for the recommendations and information guys .
