I recently picked up a renegade and a white mountain carbine. Both 54 cal. I am going to have to put reciever sights on them.
I figured I would be drilling and tapping.
Does anyone have any recommendations. As far as one brand over another.
Took them out yesterday shooting. That's when I realized. My eyes are not what they used to be.

Wouldnt a peep style tang sight do better for our "less then they once where" eyes?

Marples makes some nice reciever sights, I would check Brownells, Track of the Wolf, and Midway just for grins.

Skinner makes a model called the "Low Peep". It uses the drilled and tapped hole in the breech plug of later T/C guns. If you gun has this hole, these sights will work great. I have several mounted on barrels for my Renegades. the are adjustable for elevation only. Horizontal adjustments must be by moving the front sights.
