I decided it was time to refinish the stocks of my home-spun rolling block .22 carbine. I stripped them, hand sanded them to 3000-grit, then finished them with Minwax. It came out great- I'm really happy. This is Quilted Maple, BTW, with a little Minwax Cherry-wood stain for color.

Which specific Minwax product are you using for your finish coats? I used to be partial to Tru Oil, but we can't have nasty things using VOC solvents here in the People's Republic of California and I'm looking for alternatives.
Don't tell me you actually want to shoot this work of art? I would be scared to death I might get a ding in the stock or a scratch in the finish.
