So I have a Kel Tec P32. I've been using one of these holsters that fit around the gun and kinda looks like a billfold. I was told today at a local pawn shop that this is illegal. They said that anything that conceals the fact that it's a holster, even the fake cell phone type deals are now against the law.

I believe there was once a question in the case of a 'holster' the weapon can be fired from. If you have to pull the weapon out to fire it, then there's no question from Federal law.

Also, legal opinions from a pawn shop are generally ~1 step above opinions from the guy selling tactical jerky at the gun show.

So I live down in South Arkansas. The closest thing to a gun store is the local pawn shops. And what this employee was saying, is if you have been in an accident and are taken to the hospital, and the cops gather up your belongings and he picks up what he thinks is a wallet or cell phone case and takes it to the hospital, he just brought you a gun in a restricted area, (most hospitals) and you could be someone who would then shoot up the place. My holster is a lot like the one on that web site so I'll assume it's ok. The top of the slide is visible. Thanks y'all.

Hey! As a pawnbroker who has been dealing in firearms and following firearms law for years now I gotta say, don't knock the tactical jerky!
