Hunters HD Gold Shooting Glasses

Has anyone tried the Hunters HD Gold shooting glasses? These are now the "official" safety glasses of USPSA.

I talked with the owner Brian, and they seem pretty on top of things and this market. The lenses have some pretty features, and auto change their tint qualities depending on the lighting situation similar to a Transition type of lens, but they have a gold-colored tint.

They make both "regular" and prescription versions.

I am getting a pair of prescription progressives made using the "Caliber" frames. They sent me a few different frames to try out, and I definitely liked the Calibers the best. I sent them back yesterday with a new prescription that my Optometrist created that is optimized for shooting (long-distance focal point on the front sight) and had my pupil's marked on the sample frames.

Now the wait begins to get my new glasses back. They will not charge me until I am 100% happy with the product. I have not even given them a credit card number yet, which is pretty amazing.

I have been through a lot of different prescription types of shooting glasses, and none of them have worked well for me for one reason or another.

Here's hoping that these do the trick.

A an update on the GREAT service I am receiving:

I mailed the frames and prescriptions back to them on Monday via UPS (their dime). They arrived on Wednesday. They made my progressive prescription lenses, and they shipped on Friday back to me again (their dime).

That is a pretty amazing turnaround time. With the weather complications going on right now, I should see them by Tuesday or Wednesday I am guessing.

Just to close the loop on these glasses...

One word. "WOW". Seriously.

The vision is crystal clear, and I can see my red dot light up like never before, and they make my iron sights much easier to see. The "transition" part of the lenses darken as needed depending on the available light, and they become optimized for any situation that I have tried them in so far.

I have spent a ton of money chasing the perfect shooting glasses, which is a shame since these were there right in plain sight the whole time.

I recommend these glasses wholeheartedly, and while they weren't cheap (my progressives ended up costing just under $400 out the door), I am 100% thrilled with these glasses.

If you can't see, you can't shoot, right?

Ever person I talk to that has them are satisfied but no one can answer this question: How well do they work indoors with iron sights?

They work GREAT indoors, either with iron sights or red dots. They make the sight really stand out. I can't say enough great things about these glasses.
