The finish on it is great for 45 years old. Has some slight holster wear in the usual places. I couldn’t believe how tight the B/C gap is. My feeler gauges are at work so I can’t measure it. Took it to the range and found I can shoot it better than I can shoot my GP100. I see why these were carried by officers for so many years. I’m going to start carrying it, especially since it will fit in the same holster as the GP100.

Very nice! Those M-10's just keep chugging along. Feed it sensibly, clean and oil it when it needs it, wipe it down after sweating on it and check for occasional loosening screws/ejector rod, and you'll have a gun there that your children will be shooting someday.

Stay safe.

I only plan on feeding it 158gr lswc loads. I’ve read they were built and sighted for 158gr.

You picked a great one to start with. My 10-6 HB is one of my favorite revolvers to shoot. Simple, yet handles/shoots so well. Shot it this morning actually, along with a Colt and another S&W. It held its own quite well.

Don't think you could have done any better with your first S&W revolver than the iconic Model 10!

I can easily predict more S&Ws in your future as well!

Very good choice. I have a model 10-7 that was a Hong Kong C&E revolver. It is such a sweet shooter. Definitely one of my favorite revolvers.

Great choice and a fine looking model 10. My only Smith revolvers so far are a model 10-10 and 10-14 DC trade ins. They're very accurate shooters with great triggers. I found some old Bucheimer leather for them online cheap made for 4" K frames. I got the one on the right for $15 that had a broken snap I replaced.

Nice leather! I like how close the holster holds your Model 10 to your body! Great deal for $15!

I got a police trade in 10-6 from Bud's a few months back, and when I loaded up with some 158 grain semi-wadcutters, the accuracy was just silly. I was shooting at bottles at what's normally a difficult distance for me (50-ish yards?), and I had to start shooting the Model 10 in DA to avoid running out of targets. SA made it too easy.

They may be fixed sights, but whoever it was at the factory fixed them in the right place. Load your gun with 158 grain ammo and go to town.

I bought a couple of those, installed BO-MAR target ribs on them, tuned SA and DA trigger surfaces and sold them at good profit. I wish I'd have kept one because they were so much fun to shoot accurately.
