I have a 5in SS Interarms Dragoon in 357. It is the Deputy model. The gun is a sweet shooter. Built like a tank. The 5in pipe is perfect for carry. 158swc screams out of it. Love carrying it while in the woods. I had a 44 in the Interarms, sold it to a friend. These guns are sleepers in the single action world I believe.
Anyone have a good or bad opinion on them?

I have very little experience with the Virginian Dragoon. The few I have handled seemed to have rather "mushy" hammer falls, like the mainspring was underpowered. Other than that, they are, as you say, built like a tank.

Mine was very well built, but had oversized chambers that swelled brass badly, and a front sight that was a few tenths too short, leading to it being about 8" too high at 20yds with the rear sight tightened all the way down.
If you get a good one with normal sized chambers and that shoots to the sights, they are a very nice SA.

I believe the Dragoon models had adjustable sights, and the fixed sight revolvers were just the Virginian. I had one like that which I bought for $50 when I was 18.

It was an excellent shooter with a really light, crisp trigger.

It ended up developing a crack in the little leaf spring in the trigger group. One finger of the spring pushes the cylinder stop up, and the other the trigger return, I think. In that condition I could cock the hammer and still spin the cylinder. This was the early days of the Internet and just doing a google search for parts hadn’t really caught on yet. It took me over a year to find a replacement that fit and functioned correctly. Once I got it working I brought it to a gun show and traded it for a Blackhawk.

Aside from the difficulty in finding parts, it was an excellent gun. I always kind of wished I still had it.

I am no expert by any means........but IMHO, I enjoy mine. Not a .357 but .44 Rem. Mag. with a longer barrel Not as smooth as my SBH but a fine shooter. In fact, my wife wants to claim this as her larger bore shooter. She likes it!

Opinion? Yeah, the two of us give it 3+ thumbs up.

I saw a blued 44 mag version at a LGS some years ago, price was over $1K, more than a 44 mag DE asking price that was in the same case.

Hi...
I have had a Virginian Dragoon stainless in .44Mag for many years.
Excellent revolver...no complaints at all.
Of my four .44Mag revolvers, it may not be the most accurate(my Dan Wesson is more accurate) or prettiest (Model 29 ) or most stylish but it gets the job done out to 25yds.
It is a strong and accurate revolver.

I believe there were a few fixed sight Dragoons produced as well. The Virginians were either Swiss made or Italian made. All Dragoons were American made, in Virginia.

The Virginian was on my want list for many years, as these were very close copies of the Colt SAA. However, I think I have only seen one in all of my days, two at most.

Always wanted an Interarms Virginian too! Really well made and nicely finished by Hammerli of Switzerland, the only one I remember seeing was at a gun show and it was in .357 with a 5 1/2" barrel. Not exactly what I was looking for at the time and it was a bit overpriced given it's condition.

Have had this for years, my first .44mag-- built like a tank :) saw one in .22LR once, let it get away from me and have been sorry for over 30 years on that one. :( Rig is by Bianchi, made in USA, not Mexico. :( Offered this package for sale a couple times but no takers. Their lost for sure. Bottom of grip is inscribed "WE THE PEOPLE"
