I am sorry to have to say this but .....I would NEVER give a kid a BB gun to learn shooting or marksmanship.
I honestly don't understand how they got away with making such a dangerous toy as a BB gun for kids to play with.
First of all.... there is no safety on a BB gun and there is no way to be absolutely sure that it's unloaded.
Further more the trigger pull on a BB gun is usually extremely bad because the pressure of the air chamber rests right on the trigger.
A BB gun is a very frustrating gun to shoot because the BBs spin like a baseball and are very inaccurate.
I would not even give a kid a pellet gun if I could get him/her a kid's size .22 like a savage little rascal.
