Shot my first Walther PPQ 45acp about 2 months ago and fell in love with the gun. I have been watching Gun Broker and checking online for deals. Well today I found a fantastic deal on Gun Broker for a PPQ M2 40 S&W for $379 and $20 for shipping to my FFL. They still have a couple remaining for the 4.2" barrel and a few of the 5" barrel for $399 if anybody is interested. https://www.gunbroker.com/Semi-Auto...llers=3968911&PageSize=24&Sort=13&Condition=1

I have the M2 in .40 cal and love it. The trigger is awesome and I love the way it feels in my hand.

Had to make a mild modification to the slide release as I experienced the same as others with lock back during firing. Other than that, it’s a great gun.

I had two "Qs," one in 9mm and the other in .45. The 45 was my bedside gun. It's an outstanding gun. totally reliable, good trigger, rail for a light. All was fine.

Until I tried a Beretta PX4 in 45acp. Then it was "what Q?" I just like the feel, the trigger, and I like a hammer-fired gun; and as I have three other PX4s I like having the same manual of arms for two of my carry guns as well as my bedside pistol..

So the 45 went but I'm keeping the 9.

You did great on the price and if I wasn't avoiding 40 cal (I don't want to add another caliber) I'd be sorely tempted. Good on ya, mate.

I am still hoping Walther makes the PPQ45 with a paddle magazine release to match my others. If a good enough deal shows up I may get the regular version anyway..

Nice, i just bought one for that same price. Do not remember how much shipping was. The trigger has to be the best i have ever handle. And i owned alot of guns. I have not shot it yet. But i am hoping with the long slide it will be good for some longer ranges.

Shipping was $20.00 to your FFL. In my area we have a bunch of people who have FFLs just to transfer guns for people. Most of them charge $20.00.

What was great for me bought online at gunbroker around 11am, called the shipper to make payment, and they had it in fedex hands by 3:30pm. Super fast shipper.

I paid about that much for the 9mm a few months ago. I REALLY like it. It's my favorite polymer 9mm pistol out of many. I couldn't ask for a better trigger. I hope the OP enjoys his. :)

What's it like for racking the slide on the 9mm PPQ?

My wife showed an interest in this a couple years ago, but it kinda slid by the wayside and we never got out to a gun show to handle one.

She'd like something she can rack easier than her PPK/S.

Mine is a 9mm, with I think a 4" barrel. It's relatively easy to rack.

A PPK is a blowback, which requires a heavy spring and slide, since those are the only things keeping the breech closed as the round is fired. The PPK is also small, without much to hang onto as you rack it. The PPQ fires from a locked breech: its spring doesn't have to be proportionally as strong, nor its slide proportionally as heavy. It's physically larger, with plenty to hold onto as you rack the slide.

Mine is a smooth, well-made pistol. It's reliable and has a great trigger. Everyone else who's shot it has liked it, too.

I do have a Hungarian PPK copy in 380. I haven't shot them back-to-back, but the PPQ obviously has a better trigger and better sights. I would also expect it to be easier to rack, and to probably have less felt recoil.

I have a Walther PP in .32 and it is easier to rack than my 4 inch PPQ 9mm.

When I first got my PPQ (9mm, M2, 5") it seemed pretty stiff. But over time I've either gotten used to it or it has softened a bit. I know I don't think about it any more. I think it has softened a bit.
