In his book “Guns, bullets and gunfights”, Jim Cirillo refers to his preferred wadcutter design as sharp edged and cupped. Is the sharp edge straight or angled? Also, is the ‘cupped’ part a shallow, or deeper, saucer shape? I have molded different wadcutters over the years but not a steep dish design, if that is what he is referring to; and would like to pour some. Are the molds available?

I still have box of those 260 grain .45 acp Kawser "Pin Grabbers" I actually tried them in a match out of my bull barreled New Service Custom .45 acp revolver. I never shot them on flesh or anything but they do throw the pins off table REAL good :)

Jammin’ thanks all!
That ‘manstopper’ pic looks like someone built a mold cavity around a hex key, interesting!

To me, considering that both the barbed felon grabber bullets and the sharp edged "cup" wadcutters used an edge of some kind to grab onto bone and not glance off, even at weird angles on the skull, it makes sense that there are several designs that could be found to accomplish this.

The main takeaway that blew my mind was his slotted bullet design, which can increase the effectiveness of near any lead bullet you have on hand with a dremel tool, etc. Some look like they have a small hole drilled in the middle of the bullet, which may or may not aid in expansion.

You can make these modifications at home. Here's some pics for reference.
