Porta-loader!

So after shopping around a bit, Amazon had the best price on the Lee Breech Loader--especially since I could buy it with points! Bought it, a couple extra bushings, and another powder funnel. Should arrive Tuesday.

I'm going to start with a "minimalist" kit for .357 magnum, with Lee dippers instead of a drop and scale. Need to start experimenting to see which dippers get me closest to my preferred charges of Trail Boss, Unique, and 2400.

You're an inspiration, LoonWulf!

:D

That's where I got my little press too. I. Have some random Lee scoopers if you need, buddy of mine makes them out or pistol cases also.

Thanks for the offer, but I bought a full set of Lee scoops when I was starting out. Haven't used them much, but they're all still there. Had I known then what I know now, I'd not have bought them and gone the make-them-yourself route.

When i started out I used the Lee dippers, some loads I used a combination of two smaller dippers to come up with the right weight.

Useing old trimed cases with a copper handle would be easy make.

I'm doing minimalist for .357 as well, I made a small 6/12 loading block and here I'm using dippers and a trickler, but once I have a load I like I'll make a dipper out of a case.

Got the basics done, need to extend the tricklers arm out the side of the box, and put in some Velcro. Also gonna get a cork for the trickier fill port.
looking good, i need to still send in my lee hand press for range use, more so now, i just picked up a very nice m1870/87 vettali vetterli. to load for.

Loon Wolf,

Be careful with that Lee press. I broke the cast aluminum? arm on mine while f.l. resizing 7mm Mauser cases.

Thanks for the heads up.
I'm hopefully going to be doing most of the resizing on my full-size Hornady, but it's something I'll watch for, and be cautious about.
Might actually get some use this week, tho I'm not positive I'll take it when we go to Maunakea. Not sure what I'll mount it to since the Kia doesn't have a tail gate.... Might have to make a hitch mount like JMs. I've got all the materials, and I can probably weld well enough to keep it from snapping off..... Probably......

It's almost impossible to get real black powder out here.
same here, lucky i live about 8 miles from PA and NJ. have to call around see who has any and how much. pyrodex will be fine for the vetterli and trapdoor but think real bp is best for the rolling block. not bad for tradinga parts hawken and a old ar-15 upper. i got a older bushnell banner lite-site thrown in.
