Is anybody going to San Antone?
Anyone have any pics on an IWB sheath for a bowie knife? The Bowie in question is the Casexx Bowie, not looking to hear how "impractical it is" get enough of that from Glock fanboys. I already have a sheath maker lined up just looking for some examples.

Did I understand you to say you want us to help you copy another sheathmaker's work instead of getting suggestions on who to send your Case bowie to?

No you didn't understand, 1st off IWB bowie sheaths are notoriously hard to find, only one I know of from the factory that offers something close is Cold Steel on their Laredo Bowie, I am asking for any examples I can look over and see what kind of designs I think would work for me. I have people that make my leather for me that are local and I trust their work, why ship off my bowie when I can go up the road? Im looking for just designs recommendations, nothing further and no man in this country other than the long gone Rezin or Jim Bowie or James Black (or whoever we are now attributing mythical status to this week) can ever claim to have designed an original bowie sheath.

I can and I have. I have never seen one like it since or before. Drew the design out and had a guy here put it together for me. It was a leather sheath that used rubber straps to hold the sheath and knife in place inverted with only friction so that it could be carried handle down on the calf under normal jeans but drawn without having to disengage a retention device or strap. It wasn't super-easy to draw, nor was it comfortable to wear, but it did work. I'm not saying that nobody else ever made a sheath like that before, but I came up with the design myself without copying anyone else's work.

Again though who is saying I wanted to copy someones work? All I wanted was some examples to go on and I get accusations.

I guess I either don't know what you mean by "design recommendations", "examples to go on" or "designs that would work for me", or I don't know what you mean by "copy".

First, think about what you just said and how it reflects on your handle.

You have asked a question that you need to work out with your sheath maker. Rely on his artistic knowledge. When you visit him wear the clothing that you will be carrying. Between the two of you work out the basics of the design. How it will be attached to your belt. The position and angle of carry. Retention. Then let him show you his concept(s). What is he comfortable with making? If you can't work something out shake hands and find another maker. This is something that few here have done. The Case Bowie is a large knife and IWB carry is unusual. You have asked a question that is difficult to answer, and is best left up to the knowledge of your sheath artist.

And if you want the thread locked, report it to a moderator. If it were me, I would either delete or revise your last post before the thread is locked.

If baseless accusations against me is against me than something is amiss here. I did nothing wrong and I'm sure the moderators don't think they did anything wrong either, they can close this thread and I'll figure things out. I asked a simple question, if that was too hard to answer correctly than don't answer simple as that.

Iwb a bowie??? I'm calling mall ninja! No wonder the glock fanboys already gave you a hard time.

On a forum, do you know what a moderator is?.....oh and it's "then", not "than" for the English language.
