Yep. It’s only money. I’m not saving mine for someone else to spend when I’m gone. I’m going to buy the toys I want and have fun. If there’s something left when I’m gone, someone else will spend it.
I picked up my PEW lower today.

And some extra parts.

Here we go again, my new lower stripped came in today. I spent 45 minutes putting it together and about 1 hour looking for some special tools that are hiding from me. This second build went like a champ and now I'm stuck with a 4th AR with no upper!
The Gunny made me do it! What is the 4th best caliber to have???
It's only money!

I was thinking of a new cartridge for my 4th AR, but after giving it a lot of thought, another 5.56 will be just fine. Those other off the wall elephant guns would force me to buy new dies and bullets, and brass not to mention unforeseen accouterments.
Hey! howcome' the trigger guard is only a 3 point mount? I have never seen this point discussed online. Somebody shoulda' told that Gene Stoner guy that "it's only money."

If it attaches correctly, the front pin will be spring loaded, allowing it to be depressed. The trigger guard then dangles from the rear and accommodates gloves. A “winter guard” or over-sized opening does mostly the same thing.

It was so that the trigger guard can be opened for use in cold weather with winter gloves

Gunny, after shooting up a lot of corrosive Vietnam Era ammo, you suggested I wash my entire bolt and carrier. On your advice, Yesterday, after shooting some more, I decided to dis assemble the entire bolt to clean it. I found the extractor spring had a tiny rubber "O" ring on it. I don't ever recall mention of this part anywhere. Where did this mysterious extraneous part come from?
Anyone else know about that part?

To tell the truth, most extractors don’t need the rubber o ring. But somewhere back in the day someone started putting them in the guns and it’s become a norm.
I keep hearing some people talk about getting better springs, but other then a name brand, they can’t even tell you it the so called better springs are better.
I have heard that Colt springs are better, but Colt doesn’t make their own springs anymore. They just buy them like other companies do.
