After reading about the THR posters liking their hi-tek coated ACME bullets I decided to order a few and see how they stack up. I ordered 500 of the .358 148 gr DEWC and 500 of the .452 225 gr RNFP for the .45 Colt, along with 100 of the 450 gr RNFP for the .45/70.

The order shipped quickly and arrived at my office in a few days. Apparently the postal service has hired the gorillas from the old Samsonite TV commercials to sort the mail, as the cardboard shipping box was ripped open and two of the three wooden boxes inside were half-smashed. Somehow the heavy plastic bag that's inside the wooden box ripped, and loose .45/70 bullets were scattered about in what was left of the box. When I counted them, 24 of the 100 were missing, and several others had spots of the hi-tek coating chipped away from the edges of the bullet bottoms.

I e-mailed ACME about the condition of the box and the 24 missing bullets and they responded quickly and said they would replace the missing ones, gratis. Today I received the replacement and opened the package up. Not only did ACME follow through, they sent an entire new 100 count box of the .450 grainers! I was only expecting the 24 :D.

THAT is customer service, they really went well above and beyond. I'll certainly be ordering some .44 and .41 bullets from ACME when I return from vacation, and I can't wait to load up the .45/70 with these .450's. If they're as fun to shoot as they look, some 500 grainers will also be coming my way. :)

Thanks ACME, you have a new fan for sure!

Stay safe.

Acme is a great company to deal with I order a fair amount from them never an issue, they have a 10% off code too ,
Makes them a superb deal with quick shipping

My question: The person at your office, if different than you, what did they say when the mailman delivered that package? The PO needs to be held accountable.

Wow! I see! That's above average abuse.

I have some of the ACME 405 Gr .458 FPs I am going to try in my .458 at .57-70 levels, then maybe see if they can take full loads, just haven't gotten around to it.

I agree... The PO has not been kind to my ACME shipments, but I have never been missing bullets. At least mine were all contained within the plastic, though the wooden box(s) were cracked open. I suppose it's a problem brought on by tossing small heavy boxes around... Acme has chosen to use wooden inner boxes, RMR uses heavy cardboard boxes, I see about the same amount of damage to packages either way.

I have to wonder if some of that isn't because of the distance traveled and the number of times it was handled on the way there.

I once won an RCBS Press on an ebay auction, it was coming from Detroit Mich. to Milwaukee Wis., while tracking this it went from Detroit to far Eastern Penn. before it came back towards Wis... When it arrived the box was completely destroyed! Sure it wasn't packaged very well but I certain it was shipped in the condition it arrived.

Sadly I’ll never know. We have a rotating set of contract security guards who sign for deliveries in the lobby. I wasn’t at work the day they delivered and I don’t know who accepted it. I got a text that a broken box of bullets was rattling around and one of my peers grabbed it and put it in his office.

This created almost as big a hubbub as the Midway box I ordered with gunpowder inside a few weeks ago. The box had the words “EXPLOSIVE” written on it. That sent the attorneys in my office into fits as it sat on the security desk as they walked in and out of the building:rofl:.

Stay safe.

I recently bought their 38 spcl coated 158 SWC. These are consistent with uniform thick coating. Nice shooters as well. I crimp them on the crimp groove with no concern about COL #'s. I bought 500 which apparently my PO handled well. But I do wonder what might happen if I place a bulk order. Glad to see Acme went the 2nd mile with your order.

IMO some postal workers don't !like the weight of the package so they "punish" us for ordering such a heavy package. Usually it's not the delivery worker who drops/kicks/destroyed the box.

Hey, it's not our fault they offer 65lbs of shipping for one low price lol.

It's good to hear they made good so quickly. Thanks for the report.
