Any Machete owners?

I have the best machete: one that came with the house. I enjoyed the (joke... sure...) threat that I had a dull machete in the basement, but a friend had to clear a hell of a lot of vegetation from his yard so borrowed and sharpened it up. Works well for some stuff. We have lots of woody things so mostly have to use other methods, but it's good to have around.

We are real, real big on snazzy pruners. Half a dozen Felco ones, at least. I have had them all apart several times, some have had blade replacements. That thread I could get into. Sadly, lost the one in the sniper kit in the field once, have some okayish Bahco ones now :(

Yeah, I have a machete--in my home office, my shed, my potting shed, my truck tool box. 2 hang on the bedroom wall of our mountain cabin. Actually, in the shed there are at least 4 hanging up, different sizes for different jobs. 14 inch works for general garden work, 24 inch for serious weed whacking.
I whacked one 14 inch one down to fit in a 12 inch nylon belt sheath for walking around the property. Why? It ends up about 13 inches long and is heavier than a 12 inch machete.

Tip for sharpening new ones-- clamp to edge of workbench with c clamp, sharpen with flapper disk on angle grinder then finish with a mill basterd file, then a medium stone if you feel like it.
