Picked this up this morning from my FFL after a GB purchase. The bluing is history and sports "patina smudges" with no rust. The barrel is bright with good rifling. Very nice mechanics and it loves my reloads. Would like to install a set of rubber grips. Tried some J frame spares but they weren't quite deep enough to close all the way.

Neat old Japanese wheelgun! If you can't get other rubber grips to fit you might want to consider getting a Tyler T-Grip adapter to give you a more hand filling grip on the gun.

Is it a shooter or collectible? If the former keep the original grips (if they are original).

Good job! I have two Mirokus. Unfortunately, the Liberty Chief is pretty much a junk gun. Apparently it got badly rusted and then someone parkerized it or something. I don't care that it's ugly, but the trigger is horrible. I bought it for next to nothing off of Gunbroker hoping to get lucky.

The K-frame sized one is a different story. It has a great trigger and is an excellent shooter. Congratulations to the OP! :)
