Have you ever seen Trausch grips for a K Frame?

I got a pair on a used revolver and I had never heard of them before. Quite frankly, they are hideously ugly to me but they sure do feel good in the hands. I recently had the revolver that they were on worked on and when the revolver came back, the grips were missing the male screw. Does anyone have any idea where I could get a replacement screw?

I tried to google them and there was a post on the Mossy Creek Custom web site that said the owner of Trausch had died and no one is producing them. Not sure when the article was written, but it was attached to another article saying how the Trausch was the best grip available for the Ruger SP101

Never heard of them for a S&W, but they are supposed to be the best thing ever on the SP101

I'd take the grips off the gun and take it to your local hardware store. I guarantee they've got something that'll work.

You might have to trim the screw a little, but it's not too hard if you have a Dremel and a cut off wheel. Buy a couple or three extras while you're at it.

I can go to a hardware store, but I think they are unlikely to have it as it is a small shaft and a very large head. I can cobble something together with washers, but would rather have something that looks better.

You might be able to call Numrich up and see if they have NOS or used parts.

Failing that, I'd get the dimensions (thread, head size/ shape etc) and give Grainger a call.

If you have a fastener supply house in your town like Fastenal, they can probably help or if you can at least get the size and thread pitch, there are 100's of online sources for fasteners. I recently needed a allen socket head screw to work on a scope mount. I could find screws, but not socket head. Once I found the right size, I found a fastener company on line. I had to buy 50, but it cost me less than $6 for the screws and postage. I would have wasted that in gas going from store to store and still probably never found what I needed locally.

Hope this helps: I bought a pair for my S&W 22-4 Classic 45acp in 2009. Not sure of the frame size, although I should know...here are photos. I THINK i got them from Midsouth, but I have so much stuff that my records are not perfect. I don't keep every receipt. Sorry....

I would be talking to the folks that worked on your gun and having them find the screw or let them find a new one for the grip. How did they send it back with the grips loose?

I sent the revolver to Smith & Wesson. I did not have the time nor the patience to deal with them about a lost screw. However, I was very pleased with the repair work that they did!
