Playing around with the little .25 at the range.
From 3 feet the round went through both sides of a heavy plastic “ quarter inch wall “ 50 gallon drum, through the steel back rest of a stadard steel folding chair, through a 1 gallon jug of water, through the back rest of another steel chair then went 20 yards and buried about 3 inches into the earth back stop. Not bad. Ammo was PPU.
 
I've discovered years ago that rounds we associate as being "weak" can penetrate. I found the .32acp FMJ (using S&B) would penetrate far more than I had expected from my P32.
 
Did the same test with .22 Lr from a Jennings 22 same barrel length ,well the Jennings was tad longer. It made it through the barrel, yes no water, but not the first chair. It hit it hard enough to put a small split in the metal but didn’t make it through. Ammo was Remington thunder bolts. For two rounds of similar size and power, the FMJ speaks out.
