Show us a picture of your reloading bench

It’s amazing how much space a bunch of the small one pounder jugs of powder take up - and how much wasted space a reloading bench often has. I decided I needed to utilize wasted space, so these little suckers didn’t take up so much space.

Unfortunately, the modification to my bench only allows for the bottles as shown below. The tall bottles (e.g. Alliant powders) cannot be hung up, or fit below the Hodgdon hanging bottles. It saves me some space, but not as much as anticipated! The real benefit is when I can put the short’n’fat jugs under each other! Otherwise the 4/5/8lbs jugs and the tall pounders still take up some reality.

That's pretty innovative. For your bench design it looks like it is workable. My problem would be just like picking a line at the bank the powder I would want would always be at the back...lol

Nice! But yeah, a whole lot of powder takes up a whole lot of space!

Great idea, and very similar to how I keep odd fittings. I have some plastic tubs with screw top lids (ie leftover from hot chocolate), so using a woodscrew I attached the lid to the underside of shelf and screwed the lower half on. A good use of otherwise empty space.

Luckily, I can only get five jugs on each section! Eventually, I’m going to organize the powders a little better to hopefully have ones I use most often / ones I have multiple of on the same row, but that’s a future me problem!

I have two 8' sections of shelf above my long bench. The bottom one holds powder three deep and I can set the extra ones on top of the first layer. The top shelf has a section that holds my pistol powders, I've only got about a dozen cans in it. My big 8 pounders reside in a separate area and I just keep one pound stock bottles on the shelves for the most common ones.

My under-bench area has a 12' 1X12 running the length of the bench and I keep most of my small quantity brass there with big flat storage containers on the floor under that shelf. The huge quantity stuff is in the garage in 30 pound kitty litter buckets stacked five high and two deep.

That's a really slick idea.

No shelving up yet except the closet which is all gun cases, range bags, cleaning kit, and powder.

After buying the home and considerable projects I had the 2x4 basics supports already. Just cleaned them up and built this. Wife doesn't realize but I also screwed it to the wall. 2x4 and 3/4 treated plywood. Very solid 20190825_141713.jpg

I hear you on attaching/screwing it to the wall.
I found the easiest way to do this is find the studs and use an angle bracket to connect the bench top to the wall, no crawling around under the bench for install.
Here's a pic of what I did, along with a bigger angle bracket for those who are in the "if it's worth doing, overdoing it will be better". :uhoh:

As of tomorrow, (August 30th) this thread topic is 13 years old. Majority of photos no longer exist and probably most of the members (may they rest in peace) have.....expired. I do enjoy seeing everyone's reloading rooms, wish they were more current. We can be thankful colors of re-loaders weren't in Avocado and Harvest Gold so it didn't date the rooms.:)

I haven’t expired Yet. Just moved to Nebraska and am completely redoing my reloading bench.

I am years from retiring. Sadly I don’t have time for much reloading right now. Little ones take a lot of time, attention, and space. Well worth taking a step back from reloading.

I even bought a turret press to make it easier... over a year ago... it’s mounted and set up. I don’t even remember what caliber does I set up for it though. Probably .38spl. Never used it, just got it ready and now it sits waiting for me to get back to it.
