He purchased them from the estate of a dealer who had hoarded about a hundred BIB Revolvers, mostly Smiths. After some begging, we did a bit of horse trading and I wound up with a 29-2 from 1979 and a 27-2 from 1976. Both unfired since leaving factory and all paperwork is under the top. These I’ll probably hold on to for a while.

Are you going to shoot them?

Yes the long barrel Model 27's usually have blade front sights (target) and the model 29-2 have ramps, USUALLY. At least mine have. I think it would have to be special ordered not to. Those guns are stunning ! I guess some should remain unfired for history and as an investment !

I do not play an investment counselor when it comes to guns, am just not that smart. I buy and shoot what turns me on. Do know & understand how its best to leave guns in an unshot condition. But there is a reason the Good Lord made that fine iron ore all those years ago and then he made people with all the talents, brains and guts to put those darn beauties together. Not to mention the fine ammunition manufactures.

But to me someday, someone, somewhere is going to shoot those guns again and considering how long the OP has been has been eye-balling these guns, I think he deserves to be that shooter.

Just hope he videos it so he can share it with us...

Nice bit of wheeling and dealing to score those two fine revolvers!

Well done!
