In my meager collection of 30 firearms I can only count 5.
1 Sig P220 - German
2 CZ's a PCR and a 85 Combat - Czech (Can't spell Czechoslovakia)
1 CZ Ringneck 20 gage side x side ( marketed by CZ but actually made in Turkey)
1 Beretta feather weight 12 gage O/U.

The 3 handguns are excusable because I'm of Bavarian descent.
The 20 gage because it's the only side x side I can afford.
The Beretta because it's one very fine shotgun.

Once owned a Stevens 311 but the darn thing must have weighed 15 pounds.
Sold it shortly after I inadvertently let off both triggers at the same time, ouch.
Everything else is 100% American I'm proud to say. :D

Always wondered where Brownings fit into the mix....American company with manufacturing in Europe and Japan.

My Belgian is of course a Browning, lol. Funny how so many FNs are now US made.

Dont forget Winchester, Colt, and Remington all produced Browning designs, though not under his name, AFAIK.

Arent all the current Browning-branded handguns US made?

Surprised none of the XD guys have chimed in with Croatia yet!

This thread made me realize that, through no conscious choice, that every thing in my cabinet (currently) is made by an American company. I can't say with absolute certainty that mine were assembled here with parts made here, or that I haven't owned some great ones in the past that weren't USA-made, or that my next one will be USA-made (still looking at some version of a CZ75), but, at the moment, all of mine are domestic.

^ American pride seems to be beyond this fellows comprehension. Probably never owned anything other than a puny bellum. :neener:

15 i never understood the guys that say they must be made in the usa, there excuse is the usa makes the best guns in the world. well we don't and never did.
Whoa....thems fightin words!

In 1873, we made the best revolver in the world at that time, the Colt SAA.
In 1911 we made the best automatic pistol in the world at the time, and arguably of all time, the M1911.
In 1935 we made the best mass production double action revolver of all time, the S&W Registered Magnum (M27).
In 1938 we made the best semi-automatic rifle in the world at that time, the Garand.

there all good guns, but i would bet at the same time there were better guns, cost is a big factor in what is used especially by military.

Troy, genuinely curious if you have examples countering those that he mentioned?

Edited to clarify: At the specific years mentioned for each firearm. Likely some non-US firearms take top honors in some categories since then.

For me the American is the foreigner.

2 American
1 Turk
1 mixed (American and British). That's a 10/22 pattern gun but the receiver is milled in the UK

I had a 3rd American but I sold it (SIG 522)

You will be pleasantly surprised how many "foreign" handguns are actually made (or at least assembled to US made frames) in the USA.

The import laws are actually very restrictive on pistols.

best can mean different things best design, best quality, best for the given task. was then grand really the best with it's 8 round clip feed mag when many rifles used a detachable mag with 10 or more rounds. other good guns are sporting rifles there are no high end us made gun that can compare to belgium, german austria
