Not yet. Maybe Jake is waiting for official launch news ...

A very well known match ammo MFG is going to use our bullets for production of their match ammo. Our name won't be on the box or anything but we will be allowed to tell people that it's our bullets.
We only have to keep it secret until they launch the new line of ammo. I believe they are launching next week at the beginning of the month.
Finally got an answer. They are launching August 10th ...

Well, I finally have a link! Kind of surprised they didn't advertise it a little harder, but I think they were worried they wouldn't have enough to fill all the orders. If you guys know anyone looking to purchace .38 Super please share the link. The more of this stuff they sell, the more we can do. Also, not sure if anyone has heard or not, but we have tooling for .40 and .45 FMJ. Now I just need the money and time to put them in a machine! https://www.killoughshootingsports....c/eley-38-super-comp-124-gr-fmj-rn-major.html

Well, a big congratulations Jake!

So the world record setting match ammunition manufacturer for decades which decided to use RMR bullets for their new line of match ammunition is ELEY.

ELEY has been preferred ammunition of choice of world record setting top match shooters of ISSF and Olympics due to their class leading consistency of match ammunition - https://www.ssusa.org/articles/2019...for-top-issf-world-cup-rifle-pistol-shooters/

Here is Guns America Digest article detailing the virtues of accuracy from consistency of RMR 124 gr JHP MPR - https://www.gunsamerica.com/digest/...EGsu3J1xLvk86kfwopr2zmXyU2jlAL_2Ij3-hskEk4PtI

Where is this ammo loaded? In the USA, or not in the USA?

Also, it might be worth pointing out that Eley is using 38 Super Comp rimless cases for this load, not regular semi-rimmed 38 Super, and is targeting competitive IPSC shooters.

And, it is loaded to Major Power factor, which for a 124 grain bullet must be at least: USPSA 165 pf in open division = 1330 fps; IPSC 160 pf in open division = 1290 fps. Depending on the powder they're using, it might or might not be within SAAMI or CIP specs. longdayjake, do you know what their peak chamber pressure is for this load?

Thanks.

Well, since no one correctly guessed ELEY, I may still select a random member or members to send out their choice of RMR bullet packages.

As to ELEY choosing RMR, imagine what "match grade" consistency criteria they used to select a new pistol bullet in line with their world record setting/ISSF/Olympic reputation.

I am certain, ELEY chose RMR over other bullets because they were confident Jake's bullets would perform at the expected level of consistency and probably produced smaller consistent groups than other "match grade" bullets.

I am sure there will be countless local/regional/national/worldwide match shooters on various action pistol/bullseye forums who will be discussing the implications and reasons why ELEY chose RMR over other bullets and may try RMR bullets for their own testing (If they are not already using RMR bullets).

Eley's adoption of RMR as a supplier does speak volumes about RMR's quality and consistency!

I wonder how big the USPSA/IPSC market for off-the-shelf open gun ammo is? I roll my own... with RMR JHPs at the moment.

Imagine the countless grueling tests and QC/consistency criteria ELEY technicians and ballisticians used to compared various "match grade" bullets before deciding on RMR. Think hard about that. The world record setting reputation ELEY maintains, they likely wanted to use the best available "match grade" bullets. The fact that ELEY chose RMR over other bullets says a lot about RMR bullet consistency.

Which means RMR's other bullets they manufacture in-house using the same manufacturing process and QC will have same level of quality and consistency.

ELEY choosing RMR could drive other ammunition manufacturers to consider using RMR bullets and certainly could push legions of match shooters around the world to consider testing and switching to RMR.

And if more and more match shooters use RMR bullets, word will spread and other recreational reloaders may switch.

BTW, ELEY will be showcasing the new round at the European Handgun Championships in Serbia this September as well as the ELEY ammunition Area 59 championship in November.

So, all that I know is that they said it would meet both SAAMI and CIP specs. They said they're using a proprietary blended powder. They are loaded in Texas at the ELEY range/complex.

Our biggest issue in getting the USPSA and IPSC market share is that if you can afford some of those open guns, you can usually afford to buy loaded ammo. The guys who reload usually already have a load that they know works great for them so they don't want to change. This at least helps us get into the market and maybe helps us get those guys still using MG to give us a try.

Getting 38 super to major PF within SAAMI spec is doable with 3-4 cannister powders, depending on the specific gun. They'll probably use their own blend/source, but it doesn't really require any alchemy to make major in 38 super.

I am sure they will as your bullets are cheaper than Montana Gold.

Once they hear the news of ELEY using RMR bullets, they may switch without even testing. ;)
