How many of your guns are over 100?

1860s ish Pinfire. Lets assume 1865. So 154 years old. No I don't shoot it. Can't find ammo, and it wouldn't be safe. It sits here.

1892 French Ordinance Revolver in 8mm, built in 1912. Haven't shot it. It's in just too nice of condition, but more importantly I haven't ponied up money for ammo, because I enjoy shooting my other guns a lot. But I like having it behind glass, and when I finally do buy ammo, I will shoot it a little.
It sits here.

S&W Regulation Police from 1923. So it's nearly 100 years old. Yes, I do shoot this one every now and then.
It's lettered and sits here.

Another Colt 1903, made in 1919 and at sometime during its life the owner began striping off all the bluing. He got most of it but missed a few spots, in curves and inside the trigger guard and such. It's always felt like it was then polished but no idea what was used. As is though it still shoots well and has not rusted and so I just shoot it and claim I'll make it a project one day soon, maybe mañana.

I only (sadly) have one over 100, and 1897 Winchester from 1914. Shoot it often, too. I like to take it hunting as often as I can. Even shoot a little trap with it sometimes. Six more are over 50, some approaching 100 as well, but not quite there yet. I admit, I am envious of some of these beautiful old guns.

This is gonna be a fun thread. Here there are currently three that are 100 years old or more. A 1908 Brazilian Mauser; 1908 was the contract year, IIRC, and they were made for a few years after that to fulfill the contract. A mint Mod. 96 Swedish Mauser that's 100 years old this year. It's now on the consignment rack at the LGS but hasn't sold yet so I still own it. And last but not least an Erfurt Luger from 1916. Thought I had more that age but I was wrong. Got pix right here on the computer.......View attachment 857535 View attachment 857536 -1908 Brazilian.... and a circa 1919 Swede...View attachment 857538 View attachment 857539 and a 1916 Luger --. how much are you asking for that 96 Swede. Thanks for sharing.

at least it's a good one, I'd like to find a 1897.

In non functioning/obsolete I have a couple number 1 smith & wessons, a Remington vest pocket derringer, a Hopkins and Allen XL Folding hammer double action, an 1884 Colt mix master SAA, another single shot boot gun, and a 1830-40 squirrel gun.

One physically over 100, a Remington no.4 rolling block .22 LR. This was my Grandfathers gun when he was a kid in Searchlight Nv. around 1912-1915.

My oldest shotguns are a 1925 Model 12 16 gauge and a Lefever Nitro Special 16 gauge from the same year. These were my other Grandfathers hunting arms on the ranch he grew up on that straddled Bandera County/Kerr County, Texas.

Oldest handgun is a 1940’s M&P .38 Spl. This was my Great Uncles’ duty gun at Las Vegas PD, 1945-1965.

Other than these, I have a lot of firearms that come from designs over 100 years old ;).

Stay safe.

I have a Winchester 1894 - 1916, Marlin model 39 - 1921 (almost there), Colt 1911 - 1912 and an Iver Johnson 22 rimfire blackpowder revolver, unsure of model off the top my head.

My oldest is an 1863 Colt Navy in .36 caliber. Next is an old single shot 12 gauge. Both are family heirlooms. I've posted pics of them here previously. The "newest" centuraian is an SMLE No. 1 Mk. III that was made in 1918. While I don't shoot the first two, the Lee Enfield is still a fine shooter.

Three. A 1912 BSA SMLE and a FN1900 with a 1907 serial number. Shoot them both. Also a Forehand & Wadsworth Russian spur-trigger .32 rimfire from the 1880’s. I fitted a new mainspring to it but I’ve never even seen a round of .32 rimfire, never mind shot one.

Here are a couple of old shotguns, top one is a Model 97 built in 1901, bottom one is a Mortimer percussion double, it hasn't been fired for at least 100 years according to my Dad. I have fired the 1897 a bit, works ok.

I also own 3 centefire rifles and one rimfire over 100, a Carcano 1891 TS built in 1915 and modified by Bubba, a Winchester 94 short rifle in 32 WS built in 1906, and a Marlin 1881 45-70 built in 1887. I have fired the 1881 and the 94, but not the Carcano. The rimfire is a Winchester 1890 in .22 WRF, I have fired it but it needs a bit of wotk.

At least 50 percent of my accumulation is over 50.

I so wish it were a higher percentage. Tons of cool pieces I'll likely never be able to afford by the time I could afford them.

Only a single one of my guns is over 100 years old, and it's not particularly functioning. :(

I do plan a basic restoration project on it soon though. It's a .22 and I want to be able to shoot at least CCI CB shorts from it, which will probably be fine. Maybe make it a "gallery gun" type of role?
