Uberti 1873 with action work by Cody Conagher. Winchester eventually replaced the 1873 with the Browning designed 1892 which has a stronger and more compact receiver but the mechanically simpler 1873 can be made to operate very smoothly.

I guess i didnt remember the rossi, but certainly know a couple guys who like theirs. Maybe its because im mad at them for halting production of the 92 in 454 casull now the price for one is well over $1000, really wish i would have gotten one years ago.
I want one too. I've read the reason production was halted was because it was too powerful for the action. It has a tendency to stretch over time.

Im sure it was hard on the action, 60k psi is hard on anything, i got a lever action 45-70 to scratch the itch but it doesnt pair with any revolver except the bfr - for that size and weight you can have 500 s&w. But to get a lever action 500 mag you have to get the big horn armory rifle which is also chambered in 454 casull. Merry-go-round of money. This whole not hitting the lotto thing is gettin' old.

I had a Ruger 77 357 for a time. Sold it because the accuracy was nothing special for a bolt gun. I currently have a pretty high grade Miroku made Winchester 1873 in .357, a Browning B92 and a Rossi 92 that I did all the Steve’s Gunz upgrades to. I’ve never fired the Winchester, the Browning and the Rossi have been used. The Rossi with Steve’s mods is slick.

I have a .357 Handi Rifle and love it. I’d like to get a hold of a .357 Marlin JM with Microgroove barrel to go along with my .44 of that vintage.

I have a 16 inch blued rossi 92. If I were going to scope it I would go with the Marlin. The Henry is nice but impractical and heavy in my mind.

The Rossi is now a great rifle but needed some springs and deburring to get there. I refinished the stock as well. Mine was stained but not well sealed.
