Good afternoon everyone, Got a good one here.
I was buying a few used die sets from a guy on another forum, and instead of the 6x223 dies I purchased, we had a mixup and I got a custom rcbs set in 6mm Tom Turkey. couldn't find any info online, and the guy I got them from had no idea as the dies were his deceased uncle's. So I went out to the reloading room, mounted up the sizing die, and ran a well lubed 223 case in the die. What came out looked like a brass chimney pipe with dimples all over, so next I tried a 300 blk case. what I got this time appears to be a 6mm version of a 221 fireball, with a slightly shorter to shoulder length.

So, anyone hear of this wildcat before? or is this someone's pet turkey slayer? might be fun to use for plinking cast bullets in a single shot.

I have no idea but this is totally neat. I hope this forum has someone who can help.

I remember reading somewhere years ago that a 6mm was the perfect caliber for fall turkeys. Since we cannot use rifles for fall turkeys here in Wisconsin, I didn't pay much attention. Seems that even my good friend Google hasn't heard about it.

I am intrigued as well to hear any information that someone may have.

I came across a set of dies one time and did the same as you - I googled and asked many handloaders that I know. My results came up empty and I stopped pursuing. A 6mm-221 Fireball would be one slick little critter gitter, though! (If that is really what it is!)

Here is a pic of the case next to a 221 fireball dummy I threw together. the fireball is the one with the bullet, and yes, I did collapse the shoulder a bit forming the case, but this was just scrap 300 blk cases from the brass bucket. It is an interesting one...
