can't short stroke that sucker!
I wonder if it would feed upside down......

1st thought why not, it ejects that cartridge right into the the chamber against gravity, using gravity should only help..

2nd thought why do you want to shoot it upside down????

Now you have me thinking, perhaps Jessedky would be so kind to test that out and put an end to what could become an ugly meaningless discussion :)

You just want to see him do a tacticool roll out from behind cover and put two in a silhouette target at 50 paces, upside down.......common you know you do!

I would prefer seeing a buxomy young lady between 21 & 45 with loose fitting clothing do this roll out.. But as I get older I have learned to take what I can get...

I think this should settle things

The birth of another semi-automatic. Very nice picture and thank you for it. I was educated. Never heard of the feed system before.

Very cool rifle! I saw Hotchkiss and immediately thought "machine gun" but I'm glad I was wrong. I reckon this type of firearm would be considered "self-loading" in the UK and would be banned lol!

Some of you may remember a post I made months ago of rescuing an 1879 Hotchkiss from bubba.

After bedding the tang (which is also the recoil lug on this rifle), today finally came time to take it to the range and test fire it. This was purely a function test.

The action feeds the cartridge in the most unique way like a torpedo and I thought you would appreciate it.

yes indeed, that is unique!!! :what:
