lol love the angry face. It shoots good though for a surplus. It is becoming apparent to me based on my surplus guns and other posters that 25 yd target shooting with a run of the mill surplus is overly challenging. 15 yards seems the threshold . They weren't made for target shooting though which makes it interesting how we and the guns do at it.

I didn't shoot the others because of the tiny sights, or the POI was so far off the POA

Based on your targets any bad guy 15 yards or less is in trouble with you, anything past just use your awesome M1A

OK so I fired the Remington Rand today, only tried once 10 shots at 10 yards after a test shooting at 6 o clock hold which shot low that way. It has a nice trigger, nice and light pull, I buried the front sight on center mass of the bulls, those small sight indoors on a black target is hard. I basically aligned the sights low on paper to see then raised up to the black and squeezed. I imagine outdoors in better light would have been better.

Yugoslavian Tokarev. Only tried once, same thing as the 1911 above regarding sight hold, buried the sight center mass on the bull. It is shooting to the right, didn't bring my brass punch to drift the sight, and with limited ammo this is my submission however as you can see the grouping is not bad excluding a flyer, the trigger is god awful heavy though, so heavy my hand was shaking as I fired each time.

If it is bonified surplus go ahead. I just didn't want USA police surplus of later years in the challenge like Beretta 92 , H&K USP and such, those belong the LEO challenge currently in the autoloaders section.

Yes the 81 qualifies as well I been really thinking of getting one but this year I have already splurged a lot, still might get one but for now I want to put some back in the savings I dipped into.

Hard to draw a line what is ok or not in this challenge, I am surprised no one has entered a surplus Makarov , but since it is confirmed those 81 Beretta are coming from a surplus police I think it should be ok. It becomes harder to confirm with USA surplus handguns like revolvers and such.

Anyway at this point if anyone has a surplus gun that isn't of current past couple decades go ahead and enter it.

And that concludes the surplus handgun challenge thanks to those who entered. Maybe next time we will see a Luger in this?
